A young couple is in need of assistance with a gas card to assist with travel to and from their home and the location of family time with their very young children. The Department would like to see these parents spend 9-12 hours weekly with their children, however with the distance that they must travel to the location where the family time takes place it puts a financial hardship on the family when they are also attempting to meet other needs. Meeting this need for the family would allow them to spend time with their young children without the financial worry for a short time.

This request is for a Holland High student in need of a couple things to help occupy him with positive and safe activities during the summer. This student has struggled with attendance and mental health concerns this year due to a number of factors - some within his control, and some outside of his control. This student has been doing better on attendance, and in a meeting with a staff member he mentioned really wanting a basketball to be able to go to a park and play basketball as a way to stay active and do something positive.

This student also mentioned that he would love to get another job over the summer, but he does not have transportation. The student used to have a bike, but it broke and is no longer workable. A bike would be a huge boost to his confidence and morale, and would allow him to look for jobs and open up his world a bit during the summer. He also mentioned that it would help him get to school more reliably. The student is on the taller side, roughly 6' tall and will likely continue growing (to help with bike sizing). Because the price range on bikes is so vast, I put in a general amount - if the bicycle costs less than that amount, that is totally fine!

We are working with a kinship foster home that has done a great job of stabilizing the 2 kin children she has taken in. The foster mom needs a desk for the oldest, who is getting closer to aging out, and she hopes to have a dedicated space to work on schoolwork. Foster Care Awareness Month is here and around 6,000 children are in the Oklahoma foster care system on any given day. All though we care about each one of these amazing kids we want to come alongside those that are in our community to ensure that they know they are loved, supported, and have community.

All though we may not be able to solve the foster care crisis state wide we can solve it in our community. One easy step in doing this is by supporting the foster families that have stepped up on behalf of these precious children. We are working to get 25 care totes prepared for the 25 Foster families that are in our area. These totes are a small example of how we can help support them as they go into the summer months and resources are limited. This is a community opportunity for churches, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals to make a difference. Everyone can do something and together we can make a difference.

The items that you provide can be dropped of at ReaLove in Miami May 22nd & June 5th from 1 PM - 4 PM so that the Care Totes can be assembled and distributed to the families in June.

For the first time ever, between CBC Middle School and High School Camp, we have 14 Neighbor's Ministry Students who would like to attend. This is a record number. Every one of them is a the child of an amazing Single Mom who is either working their tail off to provide for their family, or in two cases, facing serious health issues.

Our Neighbor's Ministry students have been super committed this year to attending Tutoring and/or Bible Study. Many of the Mom's are involved in our Neighbor's Mom's Bible Study as well. This is a HUGE answer to prayer as we have been working to go deeper with the Gospel with our families. However, we were not prepared for the amount of scholarships we would need this year and did not budget for it. In order to be good stewards of our budget and to give them a potentially life changing experience, would you help us cover the cost of sending them to Camp with CBC Student Ministry this summer?

I am convinced that including them in this experience an make a tremendous impact is a testament to the collaboration between Neighbor's and Study Ministry over the past few years. Our heart is that they would come to know Jesus and to be involved and discipled by both our Neighbor's Ministry and Student Ministry strengthening their Christian community and support.

I am reaching out to request your urgent assistance for a family in need. A local mother, who is currently facing an extremely difficult and traumatic situation, is in urgent need of hotel accommodations for the week.

Her 15-year-old daughter has recently been the victim of domestic violence. The young girl was severely attacked by her boyfriend and is now in critical condition. As a result, the mother is staying in a hotel nearby to be by her daughter’s side during this incredibly challenging time.

Due to the circumstances, the mother is in desperate need of support to continue staying close to her daughter while ensuring her own well-being. Your help in providing hotel accommodations would be a great blessing and relief for this family during such a heartbreaking ordeal.
