A truly loving grandmother has taken on the special responsibility of caring for her two-year-old granddaughter, along with her 17-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son, who has autism. She’s doing everything in her power to keep her family safe and together, even while facing financial struggles with part of her rent.

As her OhioKAN Navigator, I reached out to her landlord to understand the amount owed, and we received a rent ledger showing $4,700. OhioKAN was able to send a check on June 27th to help cover this, but the landlord has yet to provide the legal eviction filing fee of $378. Despite these efforts, the landlord is moving to evict her by July 4th, which has given her very little time to find a solution.

This grandmother’s heart and strength shine through in her commitment to her family. She recently took a second job to increase her income and is working with OhioKAN’s Benefits Specialist to explore other supports she may be eligible for.

While we have been able to assist with some rental help, this family still faces uncertainty. Any support or donations would mean the world to them as they navigate this challenging time. We are grateful for any help offered to keep this family safe, secure, and hopeful.

I am looking to help raise money for a local family who is in need of financial help to help pay for upcoming bills & expenses while their mom is going to be recovering from surgery. The mom had a scheduled appointment at the hospital for a routine hysterectomy, and is currently now back in the hospital fighting sepsis caused by a large mass found in her pelvic area. Her income has been dramatically affected and has a family to raise while the dad is home taking care of all 5 kids. Anything will help & go a long way!! They would appreciate any gift cards, gas cards, meal cards...anything that could supplement their income while the mom is unable to work due to her health. This family is in a stable home, mother and children are without a stove and without a microwave. The family would benefit from a new microwave to ensure the children are able to have a easy hot meal.

The Department is working with a family who is trying to reunify with their children that are currently in foster care. The family is working to improve the home conditions but is at risk of losing their washer and dyer set previously purchased at Rent A Center. The family owes a balance of $150.00 to obtain full ownership. The family is requesting helping to complete the last payment of what is owed on the washer and dryer. Any community help is appreciated.

This request is to help support a mother of 3 children by providing mattresses to provide adequate sleeping areas for the children. There are three children in this home, and all children are needing an individual mattress/sleeping area.

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. Hello This request is to support a family of 7 and soon to be 8 with a newborn on the way. Family recently moved from Ohio to Colorado Springs and have been living off and on in a Van since April 25th . Food, Clothing and Housing are the major needs at this time .
