A devoted grandmother is currently caring for her sixteen-year-old granddaughter through kinship care. She has stepped up in an incredible way to provide a stable, loving home during a time of great need. Despite her dedication, she is now facing a serious personal challenge: she recently underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Due to her surgery and ongoing recovery, she is unable to work for the next few months. Her rent is $800 per month, and she is in urgent need of support to cover three months of housing expenses — a total of $2,400 — until she is well enough to return to work. This grandmother has done everything she can to keep her granddaughter safe and cared for. She is not asking for a handout, but rather a helping hand during a time of healing and hardship. Any support — financial assistance, community resources, or referrals — would make a meaningful difference for this family as they navigate both recovery and responsibility. Helping this family now means helping keep a home intact, easing the burden of illness, and honoring the strength of a caregiver who continues to put her grandchild’s needs above her own.

School Social Worker is working with a single working mom who is needing assistance with her Evergy bill. Mom just started a new job, and gets paid her first paid check next week. Mom has an agreed upon payment plan with Evergy, however, mom thought she had until May 28th to pay the 180.00 towards her electric bill, but found out that her lights will get shut off today if she does not get the 180.00 paid today. Please consider assisting this mom and her 2 boys with keeping their electricity on in their home. Electricity will be shut off at some point today if mom can't get the $180.00 paid. School social has checked with other resources and has no luck finding immediate assistance for mom.

Hey family, while we are continuing to "help people intentionally" I have an adult female that has been homeless for two long years. She was released from confinement (arrested for domestic disturbance) and upon returning to her home she found that her family had evacuated the home and she was given an eviction notice. This meant she had to start anew, and she was able to do odd jobs to earn money while actively looking for permanent work. While going to AA and NA meetings (self directed, not required) unfortunately she was robbed of $700 and doesn't have $500 for rent this month. Her goal is to reunite with her 3 children in a safe and stable home.

On July 22nd, the Department of Children's Services and various local community partners are hosting the 2025 high school graduation celebration for youth impacted by the foster care system in West Tennessee. For many of these students, graduation is not a guaranteed milestone—yet this year, we are proud to celebrate approximately 50 graduates who have overcome significant challenges to walk the stage and receive their diplomas. This event is more than a ceremony—it’s a moment of recognition, encouragement, and hope. To help make this day even more special, we are seeking door prizes to gift to these incredible young people. These prizes will serve as tokens of support and inspiration as they take their next steps into adulthood, whether that be college, vocational training, the workforce, or other life paths.

We have a mother with four young children working services. She was struggling to find employment but has just recently started a part time job. She needs some assistance with diapers, pull-ups, and wipes until she can get back on her feet.

Family is in need of a hot water tank. There are two children in the home ages 10 and 15. They have a 40 gallon gas water tank that needs to be repaired or replaced.

Good morning, friends. I have been made aware of a young woman who is 7 1/2 months into a high-risk pregnancy, who has a connection with someone in our church. Part of what she is struggling with is that one of the twins she is carrying passed away quite early in the pregnancy. She has also been in and out of the hospital with various infections, but the baby is fine. She had to quit her job so she has no income and is also not physically able to get out to purchase what she needs. She is being supported emotionally by the baby's father and her parents, but they do not have the means to equip a nursery. If you have ANY baby items taking up space that you would be willing to part with or can help provide any of the items listed, it would be so encouraging and greatly appreciated by them all. She is having a girl and they do have some clothes. I do not expect all of these items to be provided, but I am just throwing out ideas. Thank you so much!

Due to unexpected circumstances, this newly married couple and family of 3 needed to find a place to live.
