Client is a single mom of two girls 4 yrs & 8 yr old currently and just found out she id pregnant. She undecided about the pregnancy, because she currently is behind on her bills, currently owe $500 on her TEP bill. But she stated she does want to continue with the pregnancy. She is working, but overwhelmed with finances right now. Father is choosing not to be involved.

We are currently assisting a single mother residing in Brooklyn with her four children. One of her children has been enrolled in our mentorship program, and we have been working to support the family through ongoing challenges. The mother has faced significant hardship, including housing insecurity and severely limited access to basic resources. She is currently unable to afford food and has exhausted her food stamp benefits, leaving the family without adequate nutrition. Additionally, one of the daughters does not have a dresser, limiting the family’s ability to maintain an organized and dignified living space. We are requesting the following urgent support for this family: Emergency food assistance to feed all four children and stabilize the family’s immediate nutritional needs. One dresser for the daughter, to provide a proper space for storing her belongings and to support a more organized home environment. The mother has a scheduled appointment with HRA (Human Resources Administration) today in an effort to seek further assistance. In the meantime, immediate support would greatly relieve the stress on this family and contribute to their sense of security and dignity. We appreciate your consideration in helping this family during a critical time.

Grandparents took in their granddaughter due to mom's substance use concerns. Grandparents already care for moms 4 other children whom they all have custody of. Her rent is $800 per month, and she is in urgent need of support to cover three months of housing expenses — a total of $2,400 — until she is well enough to return to work. This grandmother has done everything she can to keep her granddaughter safe and cared for. She is not asking for a handout, but rather a helping hand during a time of healing and hardship. Any support — financial assistance, community resources, or referrals — would make a meaningful difference for this family as they navigate both recovery and responsibility. School Social Worker is working with a single working mom who is needing assistance with her Evergy bill. Mom just started a new job, and gets paid her first paid check next week. Mom has an agreed upon payment plan with Evergy, however, mom thought she had until May 28th to pay the 180.00 towards her electric bill, but found out that her lights will get shut off today if she does not get the 180.00 paid today. Please consider assisting this mom and her 2 boys with keeping their electricity on in their home. Electricity will be shut off at some point today if mom can't get the $180.00 paid. School social has checked with other resources and has no luck finding immediate assistance for mom.

Family is in need of a hot water tank. There are two children in the home ages 10 and 15. They have a 40 gallon gas water tank that needs to be repaired or replaced.

Good morning, friends. I have been made aware of a young woman who is 7 1/2 months into a high-risk pregnancy, who has a connection with someone in our church. Part of what she is struggling with is that one of the twins she is carrying passed away quite early in the pregnancy. She has also been in and out of the hospital with various infections, but the baby is fine. She had to quit her job so she has no income and is also not physically able to get out to purchase what she needs. She is being supported emotionally by the baby's father and her parents, but they do not have the means to equip a nursery. If you have ANY baby items taking up space that you would be willing to part with or can help provide any of the items listed, it would be so encouraging and greatly appreciated by them all. She is having a girl and they do have some clothes. I do not expect all of these items to be provided, but I am just throwing out ideas. Thank you so much!
