A grandmother of a boy, took him into her home in December. She recently experienced fraud on her TANF and is struggling to keep food on the table. A gift card for groceries at Walmart or King Soopers in the amount of $200 would be a huge blessing for her at this time as she is concerned about food insecurity. If this need was met, it would allow her to prevent falling any further behind while ensuring her grandson is well fed. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Foster mother is needing assistance with getting Gelmix for a medically fragile baby. The baby has to have Gelmix infant thickener added to his formula to thicken the formula and prevent him from aspirating. During a recent hospital stay, the medical team used all of foster moms Gelmix so she has run out earlier than she was supposed to. There are a few different brands available that will work as long as it states on the bottle that it is an infant thickener, but Gelmix is the recommended brand.

I have a new mother of a soon to be one month old. Since she just had a child, she is currently without a job which has put a great strain on their finances. The mother reached out to me in panic because the source they were hoping to obtain $400 to complete their rent payment has fallen through. Their place of residence is threatening to evict the family if they are unable to pay. With the anxieties that come with being a new parent, this added stress is causing unnecessary pressure on the family. This money will bring temporary relief for the family by providing a roof over the family's head to ensure they don't become unhoused; as well as lowering the risk for other negative experiences that come with being unhoused.

We have a larger family in need of help with their transportation. DJFS is helping with housing at this time. According to the caseworker they have a 2003 Honda Odyssey van in need of 2 front wheel bearings and a fuel filter. Several shops were called for pricing. It sounds like it could cost around 1400.00 as long as they don't run into any other issues.

Biological mother is in need of assistance with getting an ID to begin her new job. She has been hired at a job but needs her ID to begin working. She also needs black pants, size XL or 12, to wear at work.

Good morning, friends. I have been made aware of a young woman who is 7 1/2 months into a high-risk pregnancy, who has a connection with someone in our church. Part of what she is struggling with is that one of the twins she is carrying passed away quite early in the pregnancy. She has also been in and out of the hospital with various infections, but the baby is fine. She had to quit her job so she has no income and is also not physically able to get out to purchase what she needs. She is being supported emotionally by the baby's father and her parents, but they do not have the means to equip a nursery. If you have ANY baby items taking up space that you would be willing to part with or can help provide any of the items listed, it would be so encouraging and greatly appreciated by them all. She is having a girl and they do have some clothes. I do not expect all of these items to be provided, but I am just throwing out ideas. Thank you so much!

A mom with a child with special needs mentioned that she was without basic clothing and personal hygiene items impacting her ability to work and provide for her family. These items would help this mom be able to provide for her family.

Due to unexpected circumstances, this newly married couple and family of 3 needed to find a place to live. With deposits and moving fees, it leaves them still in need of a refrigerator, washer, and dryer. Foster Care Awareness Month is here and around 6,000 children are in the Oklahoma foster care system on any given day. All though we care about each one of these amazing kids we want to come alongside those that are in our community to ensure that they know they are loved, supported, and have community.

All though we may not be able to solve the foster care crisis state wide we can solve it in our community. One easy step in doing this is by supporting the foster families that have stepped up on behalf of these precious children. We are working to get 25 care totes prepared for the 25 Foster families that are in our area. These totes are a small example of how we can help support them as they go into the summer months and resources are limited. This is a community opportunity for churches, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals to make a difference. Everyone can do something and together we can make a difference.

The items that you provide can be dropped of at ReaLove in Miami May 22nd & June 5th from 1 PM - 4 PM so that the Care Totes can be assembled and distributed to the families in June.
