Story
On June 26th, the Department of Children's Services and various local community partners are hosting the 2025 high school graduation celebration for youth impacted by the foster care system in Middle Tennessee. For many of these students, graduation is not a guaranteed milestone—yet this year, we are proud to celebrate approximately 100 graduates who have overcome significant challenges to walk the stage and receive their diplomas.
This event is more than a ceremony—it’s a moment of recognition, encouragement, and hope. To help make this day even more special, we are seeking door prizes to gift to these incredible young people. These prizes will serve as tokens of support and inspiration as they take their next steps into adulthood, whether that be college, vocational training, the workforce, or other life paths.
Special Instructions
Because this is a graduation event there is no opportunity for direct connection, but we do encourage writing an encouraging note for the student. The "needs" listed are based on items typically asked by our students, but if you have any other items you want to contribute, please provide some details in the response and we would love to connect.
A similar event will be hosted in the West Region (July 17th) and the East Region (July 22nd).
