This request is part of the Bundles of Hope initiative. Children’s Home Society is working closely with this caregiver who is doing their best to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their little one. This family is caring for a child under the age of 2 and the child is in need of size 6 and 7 diapers and wipes.

The foster parent has been providing for the needs of child and would benefit from this initiative.

We have a young widow, 33 yrs old, with three girls ages 11, 10, 8 years old in need of furniture, see listed needs. She graduated from Hope Gardens recently, is in school to complete her AA degree, and recently through the program was able get housing. This would help to create a comfortable living space for her and her daughters as she continues to futher her education and move forward in her healing and create a space for her daughters to thirve and grow.

We are reaching out to our compassionate community on behalf of a local family who has stepped up in love and faith to adopt two young boys into their home. These boys are relatives of the family and were recently and abruptly placed into their care due to unexpected circumstances. The transition was sudden, and while the family has embraced them with open hearts, they are in need of some practical support to help the boys settle in and feel at home.

Why It Matters: This family didn’t hesitate to say “yes” when these boys needed a safe and loving place to land. They are committed to providing a stable, nurturing home where these children can heal, grow, and thrive. However, taking in two children so suddenly has placed a strain on their resources, and they are currently trying to set up the boys’ living space from scratch.

A Young adult is asking for financial assistance for going to Korea to study broad. The young adult is currently not employed at this time. The young adult is a full college student. The young adult will appreciate any amount donated to her and her family to assist her in this matter.

A resilient foster youth is in need of a bike to support her growing independence as she prepares to graduate high school this June and begin college in the fall. She currently walks everywhere—whether it’s to school, her placement, or around the neighborhood. A bike would not only make her daily commute to and from school easier, but it would also give her the freedom to visit friends, explore job opportunities, and begin building the life she’s working so hard to achieve. She would be incredibly grateful for the chance to own a bike of her own. If possible, she has a preference for a red mountain bike, and she is approximately 5’4” tall. This simple gift would offer her more than just transportation—it would provide a sense of freedom, safety, and encouragement as she takes her next steps toward adulthood. This request is being submitted on behalf of a resilient single mother under DCFS supervision who is the sole caregiver to her three children two adult sons with autism (one non-verbal) and a teenage daughter. Despite facing significant daily challenges, the mother remains committed to maintaining the stability and well-being of her family. She provides full-time, in-home care to both adult sons through the IHSS program, which serves as her primary source of income. Her responsibilities leave little room for outside employment, as her sons require constant supervision and support with daily living tasks. The family is currently in critical need of a new refrigerator. Their current appliance is leaking and unable to maintain safe food storage temperatures, creating serious health and safety concerns. The need is especially urgent given the sons' dietary sensitivities and the mother’s already compromised health, which she has had to place on hold in order to meet the demands of caregiving. The mother has no local support system her closest relatives live in Mexico and there are no alternative funding options available at this time. A new refrigerator will help preserve the family’s stability and allow the mother to continue providing consistent care without further health or financial setbacks.

Good morning, friends. I have been made aware of a young woman who is 7 1/2 months into a high-risk pregnancy, who has a connection with someone in our church. Part of what she is struggling with is that one of the twins she is carrying passed away quite early in the pregnancy. She has also been in and out of the hospital with various infections, but the baby is fine. She had to quit her job so she has no income and is also not physically able to get out to purchase what she needs. She is being supported emotionally by the baby's father and her parents, but they do not have the means to equip a nursery. If you have ANY baby items taking up space that you would be willing to part with or can help provide any of the items listed, it would be so encouraging and greatly appreciated by them all. She is having a girl and they do have some clothes. I do not expect all of these items to be provided, but I am just throwing out ideas. Thank you so much!

A mom with a child with special needs mentioned that she was without basic clothing and personal hygiene items impacting her ability to work and provide for her family. These items would help this mom be able to provide for her family.
