We at GFL occasionally encounter needs in our community and we are currently working with a family in our community that is in dire need of rent assistance. The current situation is that this family of 7 will be evicted with doors locked as of the morning of May 27th at 6am unless a payment of $2,500 (money order/cashier's check) is made by close of business on the 26th. This passionate mother is working hard to provide and keep her home intact. Your support of this rent assistance will provide the much needed stress relief and "breathing room" to keep her family whole, housed, and united. Blessings.

Caregiver is 67 years old and recently retired. She is caring for a 13 girl and has had her since she was 8 months old. When she was working she did not need financial assistance however now that she is no longer working she is in need of some help with a dresser for the adolescent girl. Sometimes the child's twin brother comes to visit. Caregiver does not receive any funding nor has DCFS ever been involved. Child is doing well in school. This was an informal agreement between the parent and caregiver. We have referred the family to the Foster Children's Resource Center for clothing. Caregiver is surviving on her Social Security and food stamps. Caregiver has a car but rarely uses it due to not having money for gas so if we could help with a GAS Card it would be a great relief to them as they try to walk everywhere and now it is getting very hot. The family could also use some new bedding. Caregiver and the child sleep on twin size bunk beds and both are in need of bedding. Their small apt has no air conditioning so if we could provide them with a portable a/c unit it would be amazing.

This Flourishment Participant has been working so hard to reach her goals and get life back on track from facing homelessness to living in a shelter to now getting her own place! She just moved into a duplex and will be reunified with her son next week! We are so proud of how far she has come. Although the home is furnished, she is in need of household essentials and a few smaller furniture items. Below is a list of what is needed. If any of these items are available in good used condition, that works great as well. We would love for a church partner to be able to wrap around her in support of these needs! -Towels (kitchen, body, hand, wash cloths) -Cooking utensils -Silverware -Pots & pans -Shampoo & conditioner -Body wash -Small fans -Pillows (4-8) -Full size bedding (2 beds) -Small trash cans (2) -Kitchen trash bags -Ziploc bags -Toaster -2 dressers -2 nightstands -TV -Laptop for 13 year old son

DCF is working with a family of 2 adults and 9 children that has had the gas service to their home shut off. The family was on a payment plan, but the due date fell before the pay date of the single income earner within the home. The full bill is now due for reconnection.

This sweet mother is 23 weeks pregnant with baby boy #4 who currently home schools her other 3 sons who are 5, 7, 8 years old. In addition to this unexpected pregnancy, this mama is challenged to find self-care time. Family members live out of state and the husband is a local plumber with a busy schedule. Days and weeks are full with home schooling and CoOp participation that she can often feel overwhelmed with a need of encouragement and support. We would love for a church to come alongside this family to love on her with occasional babysitting for OB appointment, a date night with hubby, or any supportive and encouraging time. Playing a grandma or even a friend would be so beneficial to the mental health of this beautiful lady.

Good morning, friends. I have been made aware of a young woman who is 7 1/2 months into a high-risk pregnancy, who has a connection with someone in our church. Part of what she is struggling with is that one of the twins she is carrying passed away quite early in the pregnancy. She has also been in and out of the hospital with various infections, but the baby is fine. She had to quit her job so she has no income and is also not physically able to get out to purchase what she needs. She is being supported emotionally by the baby's father and her parents, but they do not have the means to equip a nursery. If you have ANY baby items taking up space that you would be willing to part with or can help provide any of the items listed, it would be so encouraging and greatly appreciated by them all. She is having a girl and they do have some clothes. I do not expect all of these items to be provided, but I am just throwing out ideas. Thank you so much!

A mom with a child with special needs mentioned that she was without basic clothing and personal hygiene items impacting her ability to work and provide for her family. These items would help this mom be able to provide for her family.

Due to unexpected circumstances, this newly married couple and family of 3 needed to find a place to live. With deposits and moving fees, it leaves them still in need of a refrigerator, washer, and dryer. Please consider helping get this family on their feet so they can care for their precious 2-year-old daughter the best way possible.
