Two small children that have been in custody for a couple of months are disrupting from their foster placement this weekend and KVC has last minute been able to approve a relative placement. The home is in need of one 5 point harness car seat and two mattresses and bed frames(two twins or one twin and one toddler). These children will move likely on Sunday or Monday and while the relative can borrow the car seat for a week or so to go with the one they already have they will be giving up their bed for the kids to sleep in until we are able to locate beds for the children. Any assistance is appreciated, and the placement has a truck and is willing to pickup the beds from anywhere in the KC metro area on Sunday or Monday.

A young family of 2 children ages 1 and 7 years old are requesting a washer and dryer as they moved into a house from an apartment. The couple have been here from Venezuela for about 2.5 years and help out at Centro Cristiano a Las Naciones with leading music. They moved from an apartment which had a washer and dryer and now they need to provide for their own. The father is looking for work and does odd jobs to help pay for rent, bills, food, clothing, etc. A washer and dryer will help mom take care of her kids so that they will be able to attend school and help their hygiene. We are requesting support for a mother and her three children who have recently moved from a shelter into a new home and are in urgent need of basic furnishings. The family currently has very limited household items, and the mother has specifically requested a small dining table so they can sit together for meals, as well as several lamps, as there is no lighting in their new space. Providing these essential items will significantly improve their living conditions and help create a stable, comfortable environment as they begin rebuilding their lives.

Client Liaison received a referral regarding a family of 4 children one of whom is 18 and their mother and father. The family home had bed bugs and roaches. The home has since been treated but it was necessary to throw out all of the beds, bedding and possibly the couch to eliminate possible reinfestation. The family has been sleeping on air mattresses but one of the children popped his and now is sleeping on the floor. Family is working very hard to keep the home free from pests and are following all recommendations to keep the home pest free. They are in need of 4 twin size beds, 1 queen size bed and would love to have protective mattress covers for the mattresses if they are able to get those. Family would also be grateful for a couch and have stated they don't expect brand new but would feel very blessed if any help could be provided to help put the home back together. The family is working with other helping agencies to try to obtain bedding and pillows. They are exhausting all resources including their own to provide a safe home for the children.

A Single mom and her two children have been approved to move into a transitional housing unit after years of unstable housing. This will be the first "safe" living environment this family unit has experienced and Mom is beyond excited. This family has no extra income to purchase needed supplies for their home. Request is for a Walmart gift card so the family can purchase mattress protectors and bedding sets.

OKDHS is working with a young mother of two young children. The youngest has some complex medical needs and needs to be on a transplant list. This mother lost her home health services after her child started improving and that has caused him to have recurring infections and hospitalizations. This mother works, but has to work around her kids schedule and her youngest child's weekly doctor visits. This mother has been diligent to get her child to the necessary appointments to prevent the serious infections the child has been suffering. This mother has transportation that is allowing her to be medically compliant with her child's treatment but she is having issues with her car. She desperately needs new brakes. We are asking for help with getting this mother a brake job that will keep her car operational so she can get her child medical treatment. One of our Work Release Bible study and micro campus participants was recently released from the program and lost his job due to his past felony conviction. He is walking with a Pathway member and doing well but needs assistance with next month's rent as he secures new employment. Single Mom is working multiple jobs to get caught up on her bills after unexpected life events. Mom is still behind on paying rent and received a notice from landlord that it needs to be paid within ten days or they will have to terminate the family's lease. If they cannot pay, they will face homelessness.

Family is in process of getting their children back and are need of bedding.
