KINSHIP. The kin caregiver has been the primary caregiver for her 15-year-old nephew since 2023, when he was no longer able to remain with his parents. She has provided him with a safe, stable, and loving home during this time. The caregiver is a nurse and was employed full-time until the Palisades fire destroyed her workplace. Since then, she has been working on an on-call basis at various nearby facilities. Unfortunately, her hours have been significantly reduced, leading to a loss of income and financial strain. As a result, she has fallen behind on her rent payments. She is respectfully requesting rental assistance in the amount of $1500.00 to help her remain in her home. This support would provide much needed financial relief and help reduce the stress she is experiencing. Most importantly, it would allow her to continue offering a secure and nurturing environment for her nephew. With the support of her mother, who has a steady income, and her continued efforts to find stable employment, she is confident she will be able to recover financially. Hello. Lighthouse Church has been assisting a family of 5 who was homeless after losing their housing which was already temporary. The family member that was hosting them was unable to continue providing them space in her home. Lighthouse has covered the cost for the family to stay in a hotel this week and helped to secure stable housing. The family was approved for an apartment! The family is from Honduras, mom, dad, and three kids ages 17, 12, and 9. Their 17 year old daughter needs a kidney transplant, please pray for her. The apartment is on the west side of Madison. A family is working a prevention case with 2 young children. The children are in an out of home safety plan while the parents work hard engaging in services and correcting conditions so that the children can return to their home. This safety plan monitor has sacrificed much to have the children stay with her to allow the parents to work a prevention case and to prevent the children from entering foster care. However, this monitor recently lost her phone service due not having enough fund because of the increased cost of having more children in her home. This monitor relies on her phone services to set up rides to and from doctor appointments and other appointments. This also allows her to coordinate visits with the kids and their parents. We are asking for help getting this monitor's phone services turned back on as soon as possible. Thank you for considering this urgent and important need. Arapahoe County Human Services partners with Kings Team Camp, a summer overnight stay away camp for teens in foster care. This camp gives them special experiences outdoors (zip lining, horseback riding, archery, hiking) that many of them have never had the opportunity to do. The week of camp is truly life changing! The camp is a Christian based camp where the love of Jesus is poured into these kids. At camp, some of these teens are introduced to Jesus for the first time through bible study, worship night, camp fire talks and various conversations with volunteers and camp leaders. We are in need of 25 bibles to provide one to each of these youth so they have something to use during Bible study and to take home with them. Would you be willing to provide Bibles for these youth?

Arapahoe County DHS partners with King's Team, an overnight summer camp for youth in foster care. Each year, 25 foster youth (age 13-16) have the opportunity to experience God's love through a variety of activities including camp fire worship nights, loving volunteers, encouragement to try new things, and joy for the mountains. We are away at camp for 6 days and 5 nights. These kids play HARD and are in need of some extra snacks to make it through the day. Camp only provides 3 meals a day. Our growing teens are in need a little more. Can you help satisfy their hunger by providing them 2-3 snacks a day? Single serve, snack packs are perfect as we need something to easily carry in our backpacks. We are in the woods in cabins and need snacks that are easy to store and disperse to the kids individually. We have 2-3 kids who are gluten free and 2 kids who are dairy free. A combination of Fruit snacks, granola bars, cheezeitz or goldfish, trail mix, popcorn, chips, etc.. We need roughly 450 individual snacks, at least 54 of which are gluten free and 36 that are dairy free.

The maternal aunt has stepped in as an out-of-home safety monitor for her teenage nephew, providing him with a safe and stable environment while the family works through ongoing challenges. Unfortunately, the aunt’s food stamp benefits were recently hacked, leaving her without critical resources to feed her household. She is doing her best to provide for the teen and maintain stability, but with limited income and no access to her food benefits for the rest of the month, she is struggling to meet their basic needs. We are asking for support in providing assistance for their utility bill this month. Even the smallest amount helps!

A single mom unexpectedly lost her job causing her to be unable to pay her rent for the month of May placing her and her high school age child and child who is a young adult at risk for homelessness. She has already found a new job and is motivated to get back on her feet. Would you be willing to show this mom a little kindness? She would appreciate any help that can be provided to help keep her family in their home.

A young family from Afghanistan arrived in Holland a few months ago and is in need of support. While the dad speaks a few phrases in English, they primarily speak Pashto and have 4 children (plus one more on the way due in August). Their 10 year old son is currently enrolled at an elementary school on the northside of Holland. The younger siblings are a 5 year old boy and two girls aged 4 and 6 months. The father worked for the US Military in Afghanistan for 15 years before coming to Lansing with his family in 2021. He worked in a car factory in Lansing, but decided to come to Holland to be closer to friends when his family lost housing. The father is still searching for local employment, but is able to drive his own small car. They have borrowed funds for rent the past few months, but are running out of options. Any help would be a gift as we search for more sustainable income for their family!
