A mother lives with her two children (boy aged 5, girl aged 3). Her son struggles with behavioral issues where in the past he has tossed belongings out of the second story window or the children will get into things that they are not supposed to. The mother would like child safety locks (drawers, windows, cupboards, refrigerator) and door handle covers to prevent these from occurring in the future. Her son also has sensory sensitivities. The mother has obtained some sensory toys for her son, though she would like to have more, if possible. Her daughter has outgrown her car seat and is need of one that fits her. The mother would also like a double stroller/wagon for transporting both children. The family would be extremely grateful for these items, and it would give the child increased comfort and a safety in the home.

Mother and three children are moving into their own home after completing our program for homeless mothers. Requesting a kitchen table/chairs, couch/loveseat, dressers, full size bed frame, and a queen size bed frame.

Single mom of a two young children and custodian of her 14-year-old brother is searching for either a full-size mattress (she has a bed frame) or bunk beds with the mattresses, as soon as possible. She would also need bedding provided as well. The mother came to the area after fleeing a physically and verbally domestic violence situation in another state with the children’s father. She is attempting to start over and searching for this assistance. She has been working hard as a CNA – working 16-hour shifts to provide for her family. She has been able to furnish the rest of their home, but unable to afford the beds with short notice.

Child is in need of a twin bedframe/mattress/sheets/blankets/pillow. Parents are in need of a queen bedframe/mattress/sheets/blankets/pillows.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his children. He is in need of car seats for his 5 year old and 7 year old. The type of car seat that converts from a 5 point harness to a booster seat would be ideal. It would be a huge blessing for him to have these by June 6th so he can safely transport his children.

A mother and her child are currently struggling financially due to the father, who was the main source of income, abruptly leaving the home and not providing assistance. The mother is a small business owner and does not make enough to meet the day-to-day needs of her and her child and does not know how she is going to be able to make ends meet. The family is also struggling with the mental strain of no longer having the father present on top of the financial burden now placed solely on the mother, and so we would like to ease the burden a bit by helping them in the form of gift cards for gas and groceries.

We’re reaching out on behalf of a beloved retired pastor and former U.S. Marine who served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He’s now facing serious health issues, including bladder cancer, and chronic kidney disease linked to toxic water exposure during his service, in addition he’s had multiple strokes and has dementia. Though he qualifies under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, he’s not yet received any compensation or VA benefits. He currently lives in a board and care facility, but his Social Security falls $800 short each month. His wonderful daughter, who visits and helps care for him, has been covering the difference. Unfortunately, she suffered a medical emergency in March and hasn’t been able to work and has had to move in with a friend. Due to errors in processing her short-term disability, she hasn’t received income since then. Her close friends stepped in to help cover the past 2 months but they can no longer continue. With 2 months of unpaid board and care approaching, no clear timeline for when she’ll receive payment, and no other options, she is extremely worried about how she’ll cover the costs for June and July. We’re working on VA benefits and finding a more affordable facility if her income isn’t restored soon, but that is a lengthy process. In the meantime, we’re asking for your help to keep this faithful man who gave his life to serving God and our country in his current facility and not be forced onto the street. A member of our church reached out to us as she is trying to help a single momma rebuild after abuse, marital separation, homelessness, and recently welcoming twin babies into the world. They were recently blessed with a safe place to stay, and someone has fronted three months rent on a place of their own, which they will be moving into next month. They have a long list of needs as when the twins entered the world two weeks ago she only had a onesie each. We understand we may not be able to fulfill every need but anything and everything collected is greatly appreciated.

Hello. Lighthouse Church has been assisting a family of 5 who was homeless after losing their housing which was already temporary. The family member that was hosting them was unable to continue providing them space in her home. Lighthouse has covered the cost for the family to stay in a hotel this week and helped to secure stable housing. The family was approved for an apartment! The family is from Honduras, mom, dad, and three kids ages 17, 12, and 9. Their 17 year old daughter needs a kidney transplant, please pray for her. The apartment is on the west side of Madison.
