This grandmother has finally gained custody of all five of her grandchildren. She is so happy to have them all in her home. She is just needing a bit of help with finding enough clothing for some of them. Her two grandsons are in size 5/6 and her two granddaughters are in size 12 month. Her boys are also in need of shoes, sized 10 1/2. Gently used clothes would be much appreciated!

At just 22 years old, a brave young woman has stepped up to care for her 17-year-old sister through kinship placement. Despite breaking her wrist and being unable to work, she continues to fight for their future—applying for assistance, searching for housing, and providing love and stability through it all.

Right now, she’s hoping for help with clothing for her sister—essentials like tops, bottoms, underwear, and shoes. Gift cards or clothing donations would mean the world to them.

These sisters have already overcome so much, yet they press on with strength and hope. If you’re able to support or share, it would make a difference in their lives.

A homeless dad is in desperate need of a new phone due losing the one he had. His children, ages 1 and 8, live with a kinship provider. It is critical that he have a phone in order to stay in touch with his caseworker, children, life skills worker, therapist, and attorney. If this need is met, he will be able to comply with his treatment plan and will be able to talk to his 8 year old son anytime he would like. A mother and her two daughters (a 14-year-old and a 7-year-old) recently migrated from Central America to live with their father and be a family unit after a couple of years of separation. The mother did not bring much clothing for the children and could benefit from some things for them. The 14-year-old wears a size 7 in shoes and is medium in clothing. The 7-year-old is a size 2 in shoes and 8T. The family also needs a sofa bed since there is not much space. They could also benefit from a dinner table for four. They needed some kitchen pots to cook since the father did not have many things in the kitchen for the family. Anything would help the family, thank you.

The maternal aunt has stepped in as an out-of-home safety monitor for her teenage nephew, providing him with a safe and stable environment while the family works through ongoing challenges. Unfortunately, the aunt’s food stamp benefits were recently hacked, leaving her without critical resources to feed her household. She is doing her best to provide for the teen and maintain stability, but with limited income and no access to her food benefits for the rest of the month, she is struggling to meet their basic needs. We are asking for support in providing assistance for their utility bill this month. Even the smallest amount helps!

A single mom unexpectedly lost her job causing her to be unable to pay her rent for the month of May placing her and her high school age child and child who is a young adult at risk for homelessness. She has already found a new job and is motivated to get back on her feet. Would you be willing to show this mom a little kindness? She would appreciate any help that can be provided to help keep her family in their home.

A young family from Afghanistan arrived in Holland a few months ago and is in need of support. While the dad speaks a few phrases in English, they primarily speak Pashto and have 4 children (plus one more on the way due in August). Their 10 year old son is currently enrolled at an elementary school on the northside of Holland. The younger siblings are a 5 year old boy and two girls aged 4 and 6 months. The father worked for the US Military in Afghanistan for 15 years before coming to Lansing with his family in 2021. He worked in a car factory in Lansing, but decided to come to Holland to be closer to friends when his family lost housing. The father is still searching for local employment, but is able to drive his own small car. They have borrowed funds for rent the past few months, but are running out of options. Any help would be a gift as we search for more sustainable income for their family!

Movement West Michigan has been made aware of the needs of this family and are working with multiple local agencies and churches to coordinate immediate support as they work toward long-term stability.
