We’re reaching out on behalf of a beloved retired pastor and former U.S. Marine who served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He’s now facing serious health issues, including bladder cancer, and chronic kidney disease linked to toxic water exposure during his service, in addition he’s had multiple strokes and has dementia. Though he qualifies under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act, he’s not yet received any compensation or VA benefits. He currently lives in a board and care facility, but his Social Security falls $800 short each month. His wonderful daughter, who visits and helps care for him, has been covering the difference. Unfortunately, she suffered a medical emergency in March and hasn’t been able to work and has had to move in with a friend. Due to errors in processing her short-term disability, she hasn’t received income since then. Her close friends stepped in to help cover the past 2 months but they can no longer continue. With 2 months of unpaid board and care approaching, no clear timeline for when she’ll receive payment, and no other options, she is extremely worried about how she’ll cover the costs for June and July. We’re working on VA benefits and finding a more affordable facility if her income isn’t restored soon, but that is a lengthy process. In the meantime, we’re asking for your help to keep this faithful man who gave his life to serving God and our country in his current facility and not be forced onto the street. A caregiver is needing assistance with getting clothing for her grandchildren and niece that are living with her. She has 10 children in her home and has stated that the older children are in need of clothing. This home is a multi-generational home, and the caregiver currently lives with her children and her grandchildren. Although the home can get chaotic and stressful, the caregiver is happy to have her family close and works hard to make sure all of their needs are met. Due to the many needs of the family, the caregiver is needing assistance with getting her grandchildren clothing. The children vary from 8 years-16 years. The sizes are as follows: Large in shirts in youth, Large in girls, medium shirts for boys, XL in boys. For pants, 16 in girls’ pants, 8 in boys, 14 in girls, 18 in girls, 16 in boys, and 12 in girls (tall). Gift cards are acceptable as well.

A family is in need of proper sitting arrangements for their children. The parents, who work in the fields whenever jobs are available, face significant challenges due to a lack of transportation and a very limited budget. The family’s home is sparsely furnished, and they are in need of household essentials.

A family of seven Mom, Dad, and five wonderful kids, ages 16, 17, 7, 6, and 4. The home is always full of energy, laughter, and love, but right now, they are missing something that would help bring them even closer together: a couch for their living room.

With such a big family, it’s been hard to find a place where they can all sit together comfortably. The family dreams of having a cozy space where they can gather for movie nights, play games, share stories, and simply relax side by side after busy days.

The family is so grateful for anything that could help make this possible. A gently used couch would mean the world to them — not just as a piece of furniture, but as a place to build memories, strengthen the family bond, and create moments of connection that will stay with them forever.

Resource is a guardian of five children who she obtained guardianship of through Family Court. She was the children's neighbor and noticed a need and felt equipped to step in and help. Children are 15, 14, 12, and 9 (twins). Resource is seeking help with some items to help the children through the summer, as finances have become tight with the additions to her family. Any help is appreciated!

I have a custodian in need of services to help since she has gained custody of 1- and 6-year-old boys from a family friend. The custodian is struggling to take care of the family due to high living cost. The family is in need of help with food in the home due to rising cost of groceries, diapers size 4 and wipes, clothes size 12-18 months, shoes size 7c for the 1-year-old. The 6-year-old wears a 6 or 7 in boys clothing and a 2y in shoes. The custodian has also asked for a need in cleaning supplies due to the children's sensitve skin, she is asking for Arm & Hammer Sensitive Detergent. A resource family needs urgent assistance with purchasing a new car seat for a baby who is 10 months old and has been in care since October 2024, when she was removed from an unsafe environment. She has been placed with her paternal aunt, who is now her sole caregiver in a household of five. The young child is rapidly growing and has outgrown her current car seat, creating a safety concern for transportation to essential appointments and family needs. As a dedicated resource family household, her aunt is doing everything she can to provide for her niece, but the financial strain is making it difficult to afford a new, properly sized car seat that meets safety standards. Any assistance you can provide to support this family in ensuring the child's safety and well-being would be deeply appreciated.

Dear Team Sherry, this is our final update! Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy are packing and preparing for the big move at the end of June. Kaya and Kennedy will move into their grandfather’s home in Yorba Linda and commute to Saddleback College. Kennedy graduated high school, got her permit, and will have her license soon. Kaya is carefully planning her transfer to Fullerton College in another year. Cameron remains in New York and is doing well. Sherry will be moving to Nevada to live with a longtime friend. It’s an emotional shift after many years living together, but this past year has been a gift. Thanks to your support, Sherry provided a stable home, helped Cameron begin a new path, supported Kaya’s growth, and celebrated Kennedy’s graduation all in their family home. While the family will no longer live together, they’re ending this chapter with something meaningful: Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy will all serve as volunteers at Royal Family Kids Camp in late June. It’s a full-circle moment, as giving back to other foster families has always been a passion of theirs. Sherry says this year has been nothing short of a gift from God and that your generosity and prayers was the conduit of that blessing. The client is seeking assistance with her South Central Power bill, which is scheduled for disconnection on June 3, 2025, due to a past-due balance of $349.60. She is able to contribute $100 toward the amount owed.

The client recently experienced significant hardship, including a divorce followed by a car accident that was not her fault. As a result, she was temporarily unable to work and fell behind on her bills. She has since returned to full-time employment and now has a sustainable income.

Given her current circumstances and demonstrated effort toward self-sufficiency, she has been referred to InterFaith for possible assistance.

A family is need of help with rental assistance with their water bill. Their power went out and water in the same day and are in need of some assistance. There are 7 people living in the home and only 1 person is able to work. The others are kids or adults on disability/recovering addicts. They have reached out to other programs but are not able to receive help at the moment. Anything can help.
