A grandmother has been taking care of her 6 year old granddaughter because her son is unable to. They have been living in a hotel for the past several months and have struggled to find an apartment due to finances and the bad rental history she had from when she allowed her son to live with them in the past. Over the past few months, the grandmother has been able to save up enough money for them to move into an apartment. They are excited to be able to live in a safer neighborhood and have a place for the granddaughter to play. Since they were staying in a hotel, neither of them have beds to sleep in when they move into the apartment. Some help providing them with beds would be greatly appreciated!

This family has adopted 5 children, while raising 4 biological children. The youngest 3 were adopted with very different health disabilities. One of the children has been on a wheelchair basketball team for a few years but aged out of the one that was more local. His mother drives him weekly to Grand Rapids for practice and will be going out of state for him to play in a tournament. The mother said to me that when he arrives at practice he is grinning ear to ear as he joins his teammates with similar disabilities. I would like to request some gas cards for her to use when she drives him to Grand Rapids weekly. The local gas stations to her are Meijer, Mobil and BP.

We are assisting a single mother of two boys—one a teenager and the other a preschooler with special needs—who is currently expecting her first daughter, due in early June. Despite facing financial hardship, she recently earned her associates degree and is actively pursuing further education to improve her family’s future. She needs some essential items to ensure that she can provide the best care possible for her new baby girl.

We are requesting a Mattress for her crib, a nursing pillow, a baby monitor, a play mat, and baby soap to bathe her with.

Meeting this need will provide critical support to a motivated mother working to create long-term stability and opportunity for her children.

This family in need consists of two parents and 7 children (17, 15, 13, 11, 8 5, and 1) who are moving into a bigger apartment. The family relies on mom as the only income source and need appropriate bedding as parents sleep on the floor with the younger children and the older children sleep on the couch and recliners. The family requests 2 twin over twin bunk bed frames, 2 twin bed frames, 6 twin mattresses, 1 toddler bed frame, 1 toddler mattress, 9 pillows, 6 twin bedding sets, 1 toddler bedding set, and 1 king sized bedding set.

A Teller County family is in need of assistance. This family became a kinship placement for their infant nephew, while having an infant daughter of their own (in addition to other children of their own). While the family is enjoying caring for the two small babies and creating stability for their nephew, they are facing unique challenges raising this large brood of 7! Currently, the babies are rapidly growing at the same rate. The family is in dire need of two cribs due to the babies quickly growing out of their current sleeping arrangements. Dear Team Sherry, this is our final update! Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy are packing and preparing for the big move at the end of June. Kaya and Kennedy will move into their grandfather’s home in Yorba Linda and commute to Saddleback College. Kennedy graduated high school, got her permit, and will have her license soon. Kaya is carefully planning her transfer to Fullerton College in another year. Cameron remains in New York and is doing well. Sherry will be moving to Nevada to live with a longtime friend. It’s an emotional shift after many years living together, but this past year has been a gift. Thanks to your support, Sherry provided a stable home, helped Cameron begin a new path, supported Kaya’s growth, and celebrated Kennedy’s graduation all in their family home. While the family will no longer live together, they’re ending this chapter with something meaningful: Sherry, Kaya, and Kennedy will all serve as volunteers at Royal Family Kids Camp in late June. It’s a full-circle moment, as giving back to other foster families has always been a passion of theirs. Sherry says this year has been nothing short of a gift from God and that your generosity and prayers was the conduit of that blessing. The client is seeking assistance with her South Central Power bill, which is scheduled for disconnection on June 3, 2025, due to a past-due balance of $349.60. She is able to contribute $100 toward the amount owed.

The client recently experienced significant hardship, including a divorce followed by a car accident that was not her fault. As a result, she was temporarily unable to work and fell behind on her bills. She has since returned to full-time employment and now has a sustainable income.

Given her current circumstances and demonstrated effort toward self-sufficiency, she has been referred to InterFaith for possible assistance.
