A grandmother, who is kin placement to a 6yr old girl, took her granddaughter into her care on 3/17/2025. Due to her granddaughters medical and behavioral needs, she has lost a significant amount of work and as a consequence, her pay checks have been short. She is falling further and further behind. Even with a payment plan for CSU, she is struggling to pay her bill. She fears receiving a cut off notice moving forward. She does not qualify for community resources due to her income being over the threshold. Getting her past due bill paid will ensure she is not cut off and she can continue to meet her granddaughter's basic needs while also maintaining placement. If this request was met, it would be a massive blessing to this family in a time of need to receive a visa gift card to make a payment towards the bill. Thank you in advance for considering!

The Department is working with a family whose 7-month-old daughter is currently placed out of the home while they address the concerns which caused the case to open. The family is in need of assistance with the purchase of formula for their visits. They are struggling with this expense after taking time off of work to attend numerous medical appointments for their baby. These parents are engaged in all aspects of their case, having frequent, extended visits with their baby, and are eager to move their case forward. Baby is on Similac Total Comfort Formula and we are requesting up to 3 cans. Any assistance with this need so that parents can continue to work towards reunification is greatly appreciated!

A family (Mom, Dad, Adult Male Child (18), Female Child (16), and Female Child (10) is in need of bedroom furniture. F16 has recently returned to the home and shares a bedroom with F10. The family is struggling financially as the father and mother have been unable to maintain consistent employment. The 10-year-old is currently sleeping in a plastic toddler sized bed and the 16-year-old does not have any pillows. She has been using rolled up blankets as pillows since returning home. The family would benefit from a twin-sized bunk bed, 4 pillows, 2 twin sized bed sheets, and a twin mattress to allow both children appropriate bedding and a place to sleep.

I have a single mother who is in desperate need of a few items for her four children. She is in need of size 4 diapers and swim diapers, size 4T/5T pullups and swim diapers, wipes, and swimwear for the children. Size 7/8 boys swim trunks, size 10/12 girl's swimsuit, size 3T/4T girls' swimsuit, and size 18/24-month girls' swimsuit. Kiddos are also in need of water shoes if possible - girls size 10 and 3/4, teen girl size 2, and boys size 11. All three kiddos have started summer care and with the weather getting warmer, they are all about to be outdoors doing water activities!! This mother has reached out to other resources for diapers and wipes but has not received these items yet. She will be INCREDIBLY grateful for anything that is able to be provided!!

DHS is working with a mother of a 10 year old and 2 year old. This mom recently has started nursing school. This mom is requesting a laptop to assist her in her studies. This caseworker found a laptop at Walmart for 181.93. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A woman in Grace Church is caring for her wheel chair bound mother and needs a ramp built. She will provide funds for the ramp, just needs the building work done. As soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Urgent need for a refrigerator! Harpeth Hills Church of Christ has been assisting a struggling family, and their refrigerator suddenly stopped working. The husband has stage 4 cancer and is unable to provide for the family.

A courageous mother from Peru came to the United States a few years ago seeking a better life for herself and her three children, who are currently being cared for by her mother back home. Since arriving, she has faced some difficult challenges. As a survivor of domestic abuse, she found safety and support in a women’s shelter, where she stayed with her infant son.

She first started attending Mesa Church over a year and a half ago, initially connecting through the women’s group, where she found community and support. Since then, she has placed her faith in Jesus and was baptized in February, opening her heart to healing and new beginnings.

Now, with hope in her heart, she dreams of starting her own baking business to support her children and build a brighter future. She is moving into a new apartment this weekend with her 19-month-old son (wears size 6 diapers) and is in need of furniture and essential household items. If you’re able to donate any of the items listed, your support would have a profound impact on this new chapter of her life. Thank you!

A family of Seven is facing severe financial hardship, struggling to make ends meet despite ongoing efforts to find employment. Known in their community for giving back, volunteering and supporting the homeless, they now find themselves in urgent need. With rent due, utilities needed, and food scarce, their greatest concern is keeping a safe, stable home for their children- especially their youngest, just one year old.They are humbly asking for rent assistance , help with FPL bill, and food support to ensure their family remains housed and their children cared for as they navigate to bring stable income.
