These two minor children were recently placed in the care of their paternal grandmother, who has limited financial resources and is caring for them on her own. In an effort to provide stability, she has moved into the children's home to ensure they can maintain their daily routines and remain in the same school. While the family is receiving assistance in obtaining twin beds, they are still in need of essential bedding items, including two comforters, two pillows, and two sets of bed sheets.

Request for Support: A Grandmother’s Love in Action

We are reaching out on behalf of a devoted maternal grandmother who has stepped in to care for her five young grandchildren—all under the age of 7. She is doing her best to create a safe and loving home where they can grow and thrive, but the financial strain is overwhelming.

The children are growing quickly and are in urgent need of everyday essentials like clothing, shoes, underwear, socks, and diapers and groceries. Grandma is committed to providing a stable environment, but she cannot do it alone.

Here are the children’s specific needs:

Child #2 “K” (girl, 5 yrs) – Clothing size 6–7

Child #3 “K” (boy, 4 yrs, autistic, non-verbal) – Clothing size 6–7, size 5 diapers, special diet needs

Child #4 “H” (girl, 3 yrs, feeding tube) – Clothing size 6–7, size 5 diapers

Child #5 “B” (girl, 2 yrs) – Clothing size 4T, size 4 diapers

I connected with a mother in Denver who is need of clothing and shoes for her son, dishes for her home and dog food.

A young mother with a six-year-old daughter is currently employed and in need of a laptop computer to assist her in connecting with Virtual counseling services. Due to the hours of her work schedule, she cannot attend in person counseling. This worker has been meeting with her and has found her to be very willing to strengthen her mental health and coping skills, thus strengthening her parenting skills. The mother is also hoping to utilize the computer to continue with further schooling online. She completed research on the best price for a laptop at Walmart and found one priced at $159.00 on sale. A single mother with a 6-year-old daughter is in need of financial assistance for car insurance and an oil change for her car. Car insurance totals $131.63 and oil change cost is approximately $60. The mother has recently obtained employment at a childcare facility and will be utilizing her vehicle to drive to work. This worker from Samaritas has been meeting with her and has found that she is very willing to do what she needs to do in order to provide for her daughter and strengthen her parenting skills. A local family is in need of bedding. Multiple children in the home are currently sleeping on the floor due to a lack of basic resources. Your support can help provide beds and create a safe, comfortable sleeping environment for these children.

We have a BC family who leads a non-profit ministry. They have had a l0-yr connection to a single mom and her 4 kids. Several of her kids have been through their leadership program and she has supported them in that. The mom recently lost her transportation when her car needed more repairs than she could afford (and we’re not worth investing in). She has had consistent employment as a caregiver for a family with a child with special needs in South Tulsa. Without a vehicle, her commute from North Tulsa to South Tulsa presents a huge barrier to her continued employment. This mom has worked hard and tried to lead her family the best she can with the resources she has. It is a big ask, but we are wondering if anyone has a vehicle to gift this family or an avenue for them to obtain reliable transportation. Thank you for prayerfully considering this need!

We have a neighborhood Mom who attends our Mom's Bible Study. She has a young daughter and needs help with food. Her food stamps will not be available until June 19th. So, we are hoping you will claim one of the meals we are requesting. On Tuesdays, mac-n-cheese, a meat, and a veggie...on Thursdays, a pepperoni pizza. She is happy for you to deliver your meal to her. She lives off of Bonaventure...or for the pizzas, you could order it and send it to her. Her preferred delivery time is 6pm.
