Johnson County Children's Division placed a child with a kinship placement. Due to hardships in their life, they are struggling with bills. They are requesting help with their electricity bill so they can keep this child in their home. This child has moved multiple times in 1 year and services are being put in place for the child to remain in this home until reunification can happen. Anything helps!

A family of 5 is needing help to preserve a safe home environment. They are in need of two twin beds preferably bunk beds and one toddler bed with all the bedding. The children are 10 male, 8 female, 4 male.

A pair of loving grandparents are preparing their home to welcome their 5-year-old granddaughter into their care. This transition, while filled with love and hope, has also brought unexpected financial strain as they work to meet all the necessary requirements for placement. One of the final items they need is a high-back booster seat, which must be in place before their granddaughter can be officially placed with them. With so many expenses already incurred—furnishing a child’s room, securing safety items, and making their home welcoming—they are reaching out in hopes that someone in the community might be able to help with this essential need. If you are able to provide a booster seat or contribute toward one, it would be a tremendous blessing to this family and a meaningful step toward reuniting a child with her loving grandparents.

This mother in need has been working hard on completing court orders and finding a suitable apartment for herself, her twins (due in August) and her 2 other children. A double stroller would allow her the freedom to take her children into the community.

We have a single, employed, hardworking father who is very close to reunifying with his 6 year old son. He has just secured new housing in Gainesville, but is missing a permanent bed for his son for overnight visits and beyond. He would very much appreciate some help getting a twin-sized bed and bedding.

In the meantime, this child is sleeping on the couch.

Mom with 2 children, ages 5 and 13 is having financial difficulty due to being out of work and food stamp scam. She has been in training for a job at a new Sheetz near her home, but employment has been delayed due to delay of the opening. She does have cleaning jobs on the side, but this doesn't provide a lot of income. She lost $975 in food stamps due to a recent scam. Her critical need at this time is for her electric bill to be paid to prevent disconnection. She needs $1395 to pay in full.

A brave mom in our church community has endured years of physical and emotional abuse. Just four days after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer, her husband threatened her with a weapon. She fled for her safety, obtained a restraining order and filed for divorce. They share two daughters, ages 9 and 3. Her husband is now seeking full custody of their daughters and he’s spreading false claims to their 9 year-old that her mom doesn’t want to see her. This has caused deep emotional trauma for their daughter. While the court has ordered joint custody for now, mother and the 9 year old daughter are in reunification counseling, which costs $1,000 a month paid by the mom alone. The father, who is on disability for severe mental illness, lives with his parents, who are covering his legal fees. He pays no child support or alimony. Meanwhile, the mom is also on disability during cancer treatment and receives just 30% of her salary. She’s facing mounting legal fees in her fight to protect and reunite with her daughters. She is currently $1,100 short on rent due to a recent attorney payment. She needs urgent financial support to cover her rent. This young man is a junior in high school. The student lives between his parents house and grandparents house. His grandmother has been experiencing some health challenges since that end of last year and this has taken a noticeable on this young man. The added cost of medical expenses for grandmother has left nothing to go towards extra curricular activities. As a result the student has begun to sell snack items at school to help support himself. This young man would benefit greatly by attending summer camp and be encouraged in his pursuit of high school graduation. This opportunity would be a light at the end of a very dark for this young man and serve as a reminder that hard work pays off not just in the future but now.

This request is on behalf of a 17 year old high school student. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings and currently lives with their mother and father. The mother is not involved in the student's life and leaves the majority of the day to day responsibility to the father to care for and provide for the student and his younger siblings. Student does well in school and has been prioritizing his grades and school work. The student has expressed interest in going to summer camp but does not have the funds to attend. Attending summer camp would give the student much needed encouragement to continue to work hard towards his future goal of playing football at the college level.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a high school female with special needs. The family recently moved from out of state and was staying at a local shelter before being placed in permanent housing. The family consist of mother, father and 4 children. All the children have varying disabilities. Currently mother is the only income earner for the family. This young lady would greatly benefit from attending summer camp where she can participate in age appropriate activities with her peers and get specialized support from a camp counselor. This will also allow for the mother and father to have a reprieve while they attend to the needs of the other children.
