This kinship family, who are very young, are in need of a laptop or tablet in order to complete the proper training in order to maintain kinship placement. Training is completed on Zoom. The children are currently placed with their older sibling and he is just getting stable to care for them. The computer does not have to be new, but a working computer with a working camera and keyboard would suite them perfectly. If a computer is unavailable, a tablet with a working camera will suffice as well. If the family were to get assistance with receiving this device, it will allow the children to remain in the home with their older sibling in hopes for a bright future of them remaining united.

June is National Reintegration Month! The Saint Francis Ministries team in Newton is hoping to celebrate reintegration month with a fun park event in Newton on Saturday 6/21/2025 from 2-4pm. Our theme is “The Future is so Bright, We Have to Wear Shades!” At this time, we are not sure exactly how many families will be in attendance, but we are hoping to have 5 families in attendance, with some families bringing multiple children.

Requests:

Cookies - We would love to have 3 dozen cookies for the event. These can be homemade, or purchased. We would LOVE for them to have a sun or sunglasses on them to go with the “Future is Bright” Theme!

Gift cards – 8-10 gift cards to include in gift baskets for the families for family fun! - $25ea– would love for this to be for a local (to Newton) activity, or WalMart for families to be able to purchase swimming gear, or other items for their kids.

Bouncy House – Payment for a rental for a bouncy house we would like to set up at the park (or lending one if you happen to have one or have connection to one!)

A teenage girl is being sent to Third Way House, and her current clothes are not considered 'appropriate' for the program. She needs a few clothing items to compensate for this, so she is able to be accepted into the program. This is crucial, as no other safe placements for this young woman have been found. She needs 3 pairs of pants junior size large (jeans, sweatpants, and slacks) and 3 shirts also junior size large (t-shirts and or blouses are good, no tank tops).

Mom is in need of beds and chest of drawers for her children. Everything was lost when they were unhoused and had could not pay for the storage unit. She has managed to get them a home but is struggling with beds and places for the kids clothes to be stored.

2 if of the teen boys need twin beds and bedding as they are sleeping on old sofas. They also need a chest of drawers for their room. Another room needs a twin mattress and bedding for a bunk bed that is already there. A chest of drawers is also needed for this room that 2 kids share. Preteen girl has a twin bed but is in need of bedding for her bed. Another chest of drawers is needed for 3-year-old twins. Chests are being requested due to the small size of the rooms.

The family is in need of a bunk bed so the children can share a room. There are 3 children between 2 bedrooms. The 2 girl children would benefit from the bunk bed so they are able to share a room and maintain their living arrangements. The children are living with an Aunt and this would help maintain their placement.

One of our partners has a mom who is expecting a baby on 7/9/25 who is in need of the following items. Mom is currently struggling financially and lacks family and friends’ support. She is anxious about not having anything for her little bundle of joy. Any help with the above items will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Mom was recently homeless - she's transitioning to new and more affordable apartment of her own. She needs appliances, as new apartment does not provide items listed. She is actively seeking employment, currently has no available finances to put towards these items. Mother with limited support and unable to seek assistance through family or friends. Any help available would be appreciated, thank you!

A single mother had to leave her job due to that organization losing funding and her hours being cut down. The single mother is now working a cleaning business and is a full time student as well to further her education. She hurt her back a couple months ago so she is struggling to work her hours. She currently has 3 of her daughters who are in high school and 3 toddlers/newborns in her house including herself. She is selling some lotion on the side to try to make ends meet. Anything can help.

An elderly woman with serious health conditions in our community is in need of a working electric stove/oven for her home. This can be an older or used appliance as long as it is in good condition and that it works.

A single mother is facing financial hardship and has fallen behind on her rent. She has an 11-year-old son and is striving to get back on track. Her monthly rent is $1,570.00, and she was able to pay $500.00 for May; however, she has incurred late fees totaling $230.00 and is struggling to cover the remaining $1,300.00 that was due for May. As June is now here, she has fallen short again and is seeking assistance to stabilize her housing situation. Any support that can help her bridge this gap and regain stability would be deeply appreciated.
