I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

Kinship. The caregiver, paternal aunt, took in two children under emergency care placement on 5/19/25. She was already the caregiver for one of their siblings, whom she took in on 3/20/24. Since the newly placed children arrived without clothing or shoes, she is requesting assistance to provide these essential items in the amount of $750.00. Currently, she is not receiving payments from DCFS for their care. Both she and her husband are working, but the unexpected expenses have created financial strain for their household. The requested support of $750.00 will help her provide for the children and ensure stability in their current residence.

I'm reaching out on behalf of a family of three—soon to be four, as the mother is expecting in just a few weeks—who are in urgent need of support. The family is currently without a functioning refrigerator, making it extremely difficult to store fresh food and maintain a safe, healthy environment, especially during the warmer months. Their current refrigerator no longer seals properly, and the freezer intermittently thaws, causing food to spoil. This issue is especially concerning for the mother, who is now on maternity leave and preparing to breastfeed. She hopes to freeze breast milk for her newborn but is understandably worried that unreliable freezer conditions may cause it to spoil. The father is working diligently to keep the household afloat, but they are unable to afford a new appliance at this time. That’s why we are seeking a generous donor who may be able to provide a working refrigerator.

The father is a single parent caring for his four children. At this time, the family is experiencing homelessness and is residing at the Union Rescue Mission (URM) shelter. He further reports a lack of family support and states he is currently facing challenges due to unstable employment. Father reports he and the children have limited clothing and limited money due to their current situation. The CSW is requesting emergency funds for clothing and food vouchers to allow the family to eat meals together while residing at the URM shelter. The referred family is requesting assistance with obtaining a bunkbed for the referred children, ages 6 and 8. Mother is currently experiencing financial hardships, and is not currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards purchasing beds for the children. Mother and the children were left homeless, and had to leave everything behind. The family is requesting a bunkbed for the children so they may receive the appropriate rest. The family would be appreciative of any help and want to explore all options to make their children as comfortable as possible at home.

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Camp would provide her with a safe, uplifting environment and a chance to grow in confidence and faith during a time of major life change. Mom with 2 children, ages 5 and 13 is having financial difficulty due to being out of work and food stamp scam. She has been in training for a job at a new Sheetz near her home, but employment has been delayed due to delay of the opening. She does have cleaning jobs on the side, but this doesn't provide a lot of income. She lost $975 in food stamps due to a recent scam. Her critical need at this time is for her electric bill to be paid to prevent disconnection. She needs $1395 to pay in full.

A brave mom in our church community has endured years of physical and emotional abuse. Just four days after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer, her husband threatened her with a weapon. She fled for her safety, obtained a restraining order and filed for divorce. They share two daughters, ages 9 and 3. Her husband is now seeking full custody of their daughters and he’s spreading false claims to their 9 year-old that her mom doesn’t want to see her. This has caused deep emotional trauma for their daughter. While the court has ordered joint custody for now, mother and the 9 year old daughter are in reunification counseling, which costs $1,000 a month paid by the mom alone. The father, who is on disability for severe mental illness, lives with his parents, who are covering his legal fees. He pays no child support or alimony. Meanwhile, the mom is also on disability during cancer treatment and receives just 30% of her salary. She’s facing mounting legal fees in her fight to protect and reunite with her daughters. She is currently $1,100 short on rent due to a recent attorney payment. She needs urgent financial support to cover her rent.
