A local family with two children who have special needs have been displaced from their home due to its current condition. The family is making efforts to clean the home, however, due to the adults' own physical limitations, they are in need of assistance in removing large quantities of belongings and trash from the home so that it can be structurally evaluated and deemed safe for the family to return. The family is currently staying in a hotel until other shelter opportunities become available and/or until their home can be approved for return. Although a sizable undertaking, it would be made efficient work with the help of a group of 6-10 individuals for a day.  Several waste receptacles are anticipated to be needed for the removal of trash and unnecessary items in the home.

Single mother needs help getting on her feet. She is caring for her three children- 1 year old son, 2 year old daughter and 13 year old son. She is working closely with Social Services and recognizes she could use the following items- size 4 and size 5 diapers, wipes, and cleaning supplies. She would appreciate more clothing for her two sons. She is asking for size 4T clothes and boys' size 9 shoes for her youngest. She is asking for men's medium clothes and men's size 9.5 shoes for her oldest. This mother recognizes she needs support and assistance from the community to improve the lives of her children. She is willing to begin a relationship with a church partner.

There is a family in urgent need of assistance. The household includes a mother and her three young children—a one-year-old boy, a two-year-old boy, and a three-year-old girl. They are currently living without electricity in the summer heat, as their pay-as-you-go electricity account has run out of funds. Any amount between $150 and $200 would help restore power and provide relief from the unsafe temperatures. In addition to electricity, the family is also in need of groceries to get through the next couple of weeks. The mother is not currently working due to a lack of transportation, and the father is not providing any financial support for the children. Any support for this family would be greatly appreciated and go directly toward ensuring the children’s safety and well-being.

I am working with a young single mother who is currently in need of a window AC unit. She lives in an upstairs unit with her 10 month old baby girl, and with temperatures rising outside, she is unable to keep her home cool. This mom has been working to find a job and has just obtained employment, though it will be a few weeks before her first paycheck. She does not have other income currently. This would greatly impact her and her baby's health in the next few weeks as it gets hotter!

I am requesting help with acquiring TWO beds, mattresses, and sheets to help with the reunification of a family. I am working with a mother to obtain two toddler beds for her young children. One little boy (3) and one little girl (2). The little boy likes trucks, paw patrol, and spiderman. The little girl likes trucks, Ms. Rachel, and princesses. This mother is working diligently to ensure she is well-prepared to ensure the safety and well-being of her young children when they are returned to her care later this month. This is a mother of five, who is an honorably discharged veteran. She is able to get help with living accommodations but is struggling to acquired safe sleeping arrangements for her youngest two children. I'm not sure on pricing, I made by best estimates, but I know this family will be grateful for any assistance they receive. Thank you!!

Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. If you happen to have one in good condition that you could give her that is great or here is an option if you would be available and willing to purchase one. A single mom with an 8-month-old is living with her mother and does not have a bed for herself. She needs a full or queen-size bed and bedding. A small floor fan (not a ceiling fan) is also needed for the bedroom. This mom is part of the Napier community that Harpeth Hills serves.

Newly arrived Special Immigrant Visa holder family of 7 who fled from Afghanistan (US allies) is needing a bunkbed for 4 daughters to settle into a single bedroom in their 2 BR-1BA apartment this week.

Unfortunately, due to limited space in bedroom (needing to fit 2 sets of bunk beds), twin bunk beds will fit better than full bunk beds, so probably not flexible on that aspect of this request.

Depending on the bunk bed frame that you donate, we may or may not need box springs, so I didn't add those explicitly to this request.

We have a youth accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College starting in August. She will definitely need a laptop for school. Although her tuition should be covered by the state through the Independent Living Program (ILP), she will be living on campus and will have to pay her own dorm fees, ($400 per month). She will have a job on campus to try to cover those fees, but is also working now trying to save up for a car.
