Hope’s Promise is requesting financial assistance in purchasing Xfinity home security system setup for a year for a foster mom of three foster preteens. She also has two biological children in her home. This implication of home security would ensure felt safety and protection for the foster children and family unit as cameras placed around the home would positively impact peace of mind and increased security in the foster home. There are current significant safety concerns that are impacting their ability to feel safe coming and going due to a person involved in one of the cases for one of the foster youth knowing where the youth lives and following that youth. The foster mom is unsure they can maintain placement without safety concerns being mitigated and addressed for the family unit, and this would be a step in the right direction for them to have safety mechanisms put into place.

The referred family is requesting assistance obtaining a stroller, dresser, and sway swing for the child. The child was placed with maternal Grand Father and his partner. Foster family is a single income household. MGF supports his wife, and young son, as well as supporting the needs of the 6-week old foster child. RFA license is pending. MGF and his wife are new foster parents and are tackling many of the foster child’s needs that come up. However, the family needs assistance in accessing a stroller, a dresser drawer, and a sway swing. Mother and father struggle with substance abuse, domestic violence, unaddressed mental health issues, and homelessness. These barriers led to the Department detaining the newborn baby from parents due to neglect. The family would appreciate any help and want to explore all the options to make their child as comfortable as possible at home.

The wonderful non-relative caregiver has placement of a 13 year old girl. The caregiver has 3 children of her own and is not currently receiving funding for the non-relative youth at this time. The caregiver has asked for assistance obtaining a size 9 pair of sneakers for the youth. Since the youth is a teenager, it may be a good idea for a gift card, so that she is able to pick out the pair of sneakers. The caregiver also asked for assistance obtaining a twin-size bed frame and a tall dresser, vs a long one, for space purposes. Caregiver has the mattress for the bed already. Color does not matter. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

We are requesting support for a hardworking single mother who is doing everything she can to rebuild stability for herself and her young child. After experiencing a period of homelessness in which they lost all of their belongings, the family has recently secured housing with the help of a local women’s shelter. While this has been a major and hopeful step forward, the home remains largely unfurnished, and many daily essentials are still missing. Although the mother works full-time and has reached out to various local and community agencies, her income is stretched thin just covering basic living expenses. She simply does not have the financial means to purchase the household items that would make their space truly livable and comfortable. This family would greatly benefit from assistance with the following items: a dresser for the baby’s room, a stackable washer and dryer, rugs for each room (three total), a dresser for the master bedroom, a TV for the living room, a toy bin organizer for the baby’s room, bathroom shelving or storage, a coffee table and end table, a vacuum cleaner, a new or gently used couch (as the current one is broken), a blender, and a set of pots, pans, baking dishes, and drinking glasses.

Your support in meeting these needs would make a significant difference in this family’s day-to-day life, bringing comfort, functionality, and dignity into their home as they continue to move forward.
