The family of four is made up of Mom, and three kids, one of who has considerable special needs. Mom has been asked to leave the home with grandmother and is living in a hotel. She would benefit from any supports needed to set up home with her kids.

A young mother was recently reunified with her two little girls, ages 1 and 2. The family is in desperate need of safe car seats for these two littles. The mother priced some on Amazon and at Walmart and right now the ones at Walmart are on sale for $98, regularly $129. We are impressed with the mother's insight and understanding that she needs to transport the children safely.

A family with a father and three children recently lost the mother/wife who died of a heart attack. The father is unable to work due to a disability and has three children to care for, ages 12, 9 and 4. The family has few supports and is completely reliant on the school for any help. the mother that passed away was a bus driver and the sole bread winner. The family needs help with connection to a community, day to day explanation of how the father can take care of the children and any advice on managing both financial and social emotional needs of the family. the school social worker is off for the summer and the family might need some long term supports.

A family of 5 lives with their elderly grandmother, who is a great support for them. However, the grandmother is in a wheelchair. She has an electric wheelchair and the family has a truck to transport it. However, it is too heavy to lift into the truck so she is unable to go out with them. It is making it difficult for her to get to appointments. I am requesting assistance in getting a ramp for the family to be able to get the wheelchair into the back of the truck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This request is on behalf of a 17 year old male high school student. December 2024 the student was hospitalized for mental health issues. Student was released into his mother's custody 4 days after being admitted to the hospital. Once at home student was met with mixed reactions about the experience from various family members and was told that he was weak and needed to toughen up. Despite the lack of moral support the student has began to make progress in the right direction with the help of weekly therapy sessions and mentoring from the youth pastor at Crenshaw Christian Center. Attending summer camp would give this student a much needed break from his home life and an opportunity to find much needed support and encouragement among his peers. This young man has attended various college tours and wants to pursue occupational therapy upon high school graduation.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a 17 year old high school male that is currently staying at a friends house due to being evicted out of his former home. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings. Mom is staying in temporary housing with his younger siblings and is sending what little finances she has where the student is staying. The student would greatly benefit from attending summer camp and would help to relieve some of the financial burden on mom. Student's father is not actively involved in his life and attending summer camp will give the student access to positive male role models as he continues to navigate his life. Mom has a child on the spectrum, so it is hard to find good day care. She is home with the kids until she can get services. That being the case, a kitchen table will help for the family's meals and for the kids to sit at and do activities. It will help the apartment to feel more like home.
