A young single mother who lives with her two children under three is renting a trailer which has a broken AC. The rental management has come to look at the unit but refuses to do any repairs stating it is brand new despite it not working. 9 month old child went to the hospital on Tuesday due to 104 fever due to heat exhaustion from lack of AC and then last night had a seizure due to heat exposure. The family has no local support and has no where they can go to escape the heat. It is expected to be close to 100 degrees all weekend and will only get hotter as the summer has just started. The single mother had to stay in the Salvation Army over night with her children just to have access to AC. I am requesting a window unit or indoor ac unit (or funds for these) to allow the mother to return to her home with her children and be able to comfortably live in her trailer over the summer and avoid any further health complications with her 9 month old child due to heat exposure which could lead to further serious physical harm.

This request is being submitted for a baby gate for the stairs for a one-year-old child. Mom is currently unemployed and communicated that buying a baby gate would be a barrier for her. This family consist of 4 children living with their young, single mother who has been completing our home visiting program to increase her parenting skills and the safety of her home. The ages of the children are 8, a set of 5 year old twins, and a 7 month old baby. She is needing some basic items to help take steps toward ensuring the safety of all four children. The baby is starting to be very mobile, and the family has stairs in their apartment, so they are needing two baby gates for the top and the bottom of the stairs to protect the infant. For the "various baby supplies", the baby is needing a baby play pen so that he has a safe place to play without harm from the rodent traps. The family has been struggling with mice infestation, and mom has placed traps around the home to try and contain the problem, but it is not safe for the baby who is wanting to crawl and move around. A play pen would allow the baby the space to learn to crawl and explore in a safe environment. ANY assistance is helpful!!!!!!!

After experiencing several years of homelessness in Georgia, Jennifer recently relocated to Florida in search of stability and new opportunities. She and her daughter are temporarily living with a relative while she works toward securing affordable housing of their own. As Jennifer begins to rebuild and settle into her new environment, she is facing financial strain and is unable to cover many essential items for herself and her child. Additionally, she does not have access to reliable transportation, making it even more challenging to meet their everyday needs. Providing this family with some basic necessities would greatly ease their current burden and allow Jennifer to focus her limited resources on critical household expenses. The family is in need of the following items: hygiene products (body wash, toothpaste), baby wipes, clothing for the child (sizes 24-36 months), shoes (sizes 4/5), learning/educational toys, and bus passes to assist with transportation.

She has been in training for a job at a new Sheetz near her home, but employment has been delayed due to delay of the opening. She does have cleaning jobs on the side, but this doesn't provide a lot of income. She lost $975 in food stamps due to a recent scam. Her critical need at this time is for her electric bill to be paid to prevent disconnection. She needs $1395 to pay in full.

A brave mom in our church community has endured years of physical and emotional abuse. Just four days after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer, her husband threatened her with a weapon. She fled for her safety, obtained a restraining order and filed for divorce. They share two daughters, ages 9 and 3. Her husband is now seeking full custody of their daughters and he’s spreading false claims to their 9 year-old that her mom doesn’t want to see her. This has caused deep emotional trauma for their daughter. While the court has ordered joint custody for now, mother and the 9 year old daughter are in reunification counseling, which costs $1,000 a month paid by the mom alone. The father, who is on disability for severe mental illness, lives with his parents, who are covering his legal fees. He pays no child support or alimony. Meanwhile, the mom is also on disability during cancer treatment and receives just 30% of her salary. She’s facing mounting legal fees in her fight to protect and reunite with her daughters. She is currently $1,100 short on rent due to a recent attorney payment. She needs urgent financial support to cover her rent. This young man is a junior in high school. The student lives between his parents house and grandparents house. His grandmother has been experiencing some health challenges since that end of last year and this has taken a noticeable on this young man. The added cost of medical expenses for grandmother has left nothing to go towards extra curricular activities. As a result the student has begun to sell snack items at school to help support himself. This young man would benefit greatly by attending summer camp and be encouraged in his pursuit of high school graduation. This opportunity would be a light at the end of a very dark for this young man and serve as a reminder that hard work pays off not just in the future but now.

This request is on behalf of a 17 year old high school student. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings and currently lives with their mother and father. The mother is not involved in the student's life and leaves the majority of the day to day responsibility to the father to care for and provide for the student and his younger siblings. Student does well in school and has been prioritizing his grades and school work. The student has expressed interest in going to summer camp but does not have the funds to attend. Attending summer camp would give the student much needed encouragement to continue to work hard towards his future goal of playing football at the college level.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a high school female with special needs. The family recently moved from out of state and was staying at a local shelter before being placed in permanent housing. The family consist of mother, father and 4 children. All the children have varying disabilities. Currently mother is the only income earner for the family. This young lady would greatly benefit from attending summer camp where she can participate in age appropriate activities with her peers and get specialized support from a camp counselor. This will also allow for the mother and father to have a reprieve while they attend to the needs of the other children.
