We are requesting gas cards for our families. We have multiple families with transportation issues. There is no public transportation from the larger Rio Rancho area up to the office, and it is prohibiting them from getting to visits with their kids. It is also prohibiting them from coming to the office for UAs and from to services around Rio Rancho. We have made this request before and it has been immensely beneficial, but we are almost out and have multiple families requesting gas cards.

A mother, who is currently completing her probation in GA, and a father who is transient in Colorado Springs are in need of phone minutes so that they can stay in contact with their children, caseworker, providers, and attorneys. Their 3 children, a boy (7yrs old), a girl (6yrs old), and a boy (5yrs old), are placed with father's mom in Colorado Springs. It is critical that mother has a functioning phone so that she can participate in virtual visitation with her children three times a week. Father is currently looking for work. Family of 4, 2 adults and to kids, 10 and 14, the 14 years old he is in the spectrum and have speech impairment . The only income that the family have is mother's which is not too high, dad he is disabled and is waiting for his first appointment for disability. They are living in Roanoke for 7 months now. They are trying hard to be update on bills, but they are behind with rent and we are trying to help with that so they don't get evicted. Anything helps.

An expecting mom who aged out of the foster system is in need of a stroller that can support her and her baby through the newborn stage. Ideally, we're looking for a stroller that either comes with an infant car seat—something safe, functional, and convertible to help her transition from hospital visits to everyday outings with ease. Mom with 2 children, ages 5 and 13 is having financial difficulty due to being out of work and food stamp scam. She has been in training for a job at a new Sheetz near her home, but employment has been delayed due to delay of the opening. She does have cleaning jobs on the side, but this doesn't provide a lot of income. She lost $975 in food stamps due to a recent scam. Her critical need at this time is for her electric bill to be paid to prevent disconnection. She needs $1395 to pay in full.

A brave mom in our church community has endured years of physical and emotional abuse. Just four days after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer, her husband threatened her with a weapon. She fled for her safety, obtained a restraining order and filed for divorce. They share two daughters, ages 9 and 3. Her husband is now seeking full custody of their daughters and he’s spreading false claims to their 9 year-old that her mom doesn’t want to see her. This has caused deep emotional trauma for their daughter. While the court has ordered joint custody for now, mother and the 9 year old daughter are in reunification counseling, which costs $1,000 a month paid by the mom alone. The father, who is on disability for severe mental illness, lives with his parents, who are covering his legal fees. He pays no child support or alimony. Meanwhile, the mom is also on disability during cancer treatment and receives just 30% of her salary. She’s facing mounting legal fees in her fight to protect and reunite with her daughters. She is currently $1,100 short on rent due to a recent attorney payment. She needs urgent financial support to cover her rent. This young man is a junior in high school. The student lives between his parents house and grandparents house. His grandmother has been experiencing some health challenges since that end of last year and this has taken a noticeable on this young man. The added cost of medical expenses for grandmother has left nothing to go towards extra curricular activities. As a result the student has begun to sell snack items at school to help support himself. This young man would benefit greatly by attending summer camp and be encouraged in his pursuit of high school graduation. This opportunity would be a light at the end of a very dark for this young man and serve as a reminder that hard work pays off not just in the future but now.

This request is on behalf of a 17 year old high school student. This student is the oldest of 4 siblings and currently lives with their mother and father. The mother is not involved in the student's life and leaves the majority of the day to day responsibility to the father to care for and provide for the student and his younger siblings. Student does well in school and has been prioritizing his grades and school work. The student has expressed interest in going to summer camp but does not have the funds to attend. Attending summer camp would give the student much needed encouragement to continue to work hard towards his future goal of playing football at the college level.

I am submitting this request on behalf of a high school female with special needs. The family recently moved from out of state and was staying at a local shelter before being placed in permanent housing. The family consist of mother, father and 4 children. All the children have varying disabilities. Currently mother is the only income earner for the family. This young lady would greatly benefit from attending summer camp where she can participate in age appropriate activities with her peers and get specialized support from a camp counselor. This will also allow for the mother and father to have a reprieve while they attend to the needs of the other children.
