I am submitting this request for a family we have been supporting who recently secured housing after experiencing homelessness for three months. We have wrapped around the family and assisted them by providing several beds, a used refrigerator, and a window air conditioning unit to help with the summer heat. Recently, the mother reached out requesting assistance or resources to purchase a dress for her daughter to wear on her special day, her middle school graduation. Upon learning this, we were more than willing to offer our support.

A local caregiver is requesting support to help cover summer camp costs for her 5-year-old son, a joyful and resilient recent kindergarten graduate. This child has been part of her family for four years and was officially adopted in late 2024. While parenting him comes with challenges, it has also been filled with incredible moments of growth and love.

The child is enrolled in the HASCI (Head and Spinal Cord Injury) Medicaid Waiver Program; however, summer camp is not a covered service under this waiver. The caregiver is seeking one-time assistance to give him access to a safe, structured, and enriching environment during the summer months—a place where he can build social skills, maintain routines, and continue his developmental progress.

This little one has multiple complex medical diagnoses, including: Autism Spectrum Disorder Global Developmental Delays Microcephaly Gait Abnormality Low Hemoglobin Developmental Delay Ongoing occupational, speech, and physical therapy needs

To help meet his nutritional needs, the caregiver has been purchasing Pediasure out of pocket for the past four years—another expense not covered by current supports.

This summer camp experience would offer more than just fun; it would provide much-needed routine, peer interaction, and growth in a supportive setting. Any contribution toward camp fees—or even toward his ongoing nutritional needs—would be deeply appreciated and make a lasting difference in this young boy’s life.

A single mother, currently raising one child and expecting another, is in urgent need of support. She has no family to turn to and is doing her best to provide on her own. As her due date approaches, the challenges are growing and she needs help preparing for the arrival of her newborn. She is in need of baby clothes, a baby bath, diapers and a crib for her soon-to-be child. Without these essentials, caring for her newborn will be even more difficult. Raising a child takes strength, but providing for them alone takes even more. As you may be aware, Dave Petke is in the hospital with a UTI and blood pressure problems. Sharon is not able to be at the hospital all the time, it wears her out and her health is not good enough for her to be there with him all the time. She’s tried just calling to check in, this morning she sat on hold for 45 minutes and had to call back three times before she finally got someone to answer. Someone is needed this week to sit with Dave each day between the hours of 8am-12pm to give Sharon time to get ready and get over there each day to be with him. Please do not share this need beyond our church family. You will be contacted with specifics of where to go when you select your day. Thank you!

Single Mom is in need of assistance with her Fpl as she fell behind. She is working hard to keep the lights on so there is no disruption. .

A single mother of nine children is preparing to move into a new home within the next week. As she gets ready for this important transition, she is in urgent need of luggage to pack her children’s clothing and essentials. Without it, the family will have no way to safely transport their belongings and the children may be left without clothes during the move. This mother is doing everything she can to care for her kids, but right now, she needs help your help. If you or your organization can donate luggage, it would ease a heavy burden and help this family move forward with dignity and hope.

I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

Kinship. The caregiver, paternal aunt, took in two children under emergency care placement on 5/19/25. She was already the caregiver for one of their siblings, whom she took in on 3/20/24. Since the newly placed children arrived without clothing or shoes, she is requesting assistance to provide these essential items in the amount of $750.00. Currently, she is not receiving payments from DCFS for their care. Both she and her husband are working, but the unexpected expenses have created financial strain for their household. The requested support of $750.00 will help her provide for the children and ensure stability in their current residence.
