The children came to the attention of the Department due to physical abuse by the mother’s male companion. The father of the minors is experiencing mental, emotional, and aggressive behaviors and unable to care for the children. The children live with the mother and have previously faced challenges securing stable housing and lived with relatives. Last year, the family moved into a one-bedroom apartment where they have since found stability and enjoy the privacy of their own space. The mother is currently unemployed and seeking employment through the GAIN program. She occasionally takes on day jobs for sports and concert events. The mother has been compliant with her Court ordered programs. She remains attentive and committed to her children, striving to improve their situation and long-term stability. The children are doing well; they have adjusted positively to the changes and are attending a summer afterschool program. The mother is facing financial difficulties this month and is unable to cover the full cost of rent and her monthly bills. The mother is in need of $400 to cover the remainder of her rent.

This family includes four children ranging in age from newborn, 1 year old, 8 years old and 9 years old. While the baby has a crib to sleep in, the parents and other 3 children sleep on an old queen size mattress on the floor. They have a bunk bed frame for the two older children, but no mattresses. The family is experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford to purchase the mattresses themselves.

We are requesting 2 new twin size mattresses, as well as bedding for the beds (sheets, pillows and blankets), and face/body towels.

The family is struggling financially and is in need of assistance with the following items: baby boy clothes (sizes 0 to 3 months and 6 to 9 months), bottles, stroller and a baby tub. By fulfilling this request, it will assist the parents with providing for the baby’s basic needs.

KINSHIP. A caregiver currently undergoing the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process needs assistance with purchasing a refrigerator for the home. The caregiver has two children of her own and is preparing to take in four additional children. Currently, she is not receiving any financial support for the children. Assistance with securing a refrigerator would help ease the financial burden and allow the family to have this essential appliance. This will also ensure a safe and stable home for the children. Currently, the kin caregiver receives financial support from the government. She is currently receiving cash aid and Cal Fresh. The caregiver is committed to providing both financial and emotional support for the children by utilizing available community resources and continuing to receive assistance through cash aid. As this is her first time serving as a caregiver—especially to four children—she simply needs a helping hand to get started. Once she obtains the refrigerator, she will be able to redirect her limited resources toward other essential needs, including food and clothing for the children.

A family experienced a bad car accident that has left them stranded in Davidson County and they are from Mississippi. They do not have immediate family to pick them up and the car they were using is totaled. They are seeking shelter and will be entering in as of 07/08/2025 but would like to have 3 bus tickets to get them back to Mississippi. The ask is for 3 bus tickets.
