I have a family of six that is currently renting a room from a tenant in a two bedroom apartment. The tenant is asking the family to move out but they have not been able to find a new home. The tenant constantly harasses the family and cuts off utilities. Currently, they are not able to use the stove as the tenant will yell and not allow this mother to cook. The family spends the entire day outside in the family car to avoid arguments. The family only comes inside the apartment to sleep. Father has to sleep in the family’s car outside. The family is low income and also has a pest problem in the room as they have to keep most of their pantry items in the room due to the issues in the home.

This caregiver is in urgent need of support with plumbing repairs due to a significant leak coming from her upstairs bathtub, which is now seeping through the ceiling into the kitchen. At 74 years old, she is not only facing the challenges of aging but is also recovering from a recent stroke, which has made it even more difficult for her to manage home maintenance issues on her own.

Despite previously having plumbing work done on the tub, the issue has returned. The leak has made the bathtub unusable, and as a result, the children in her care—her 16- and 11-year-old granddaughters and her 14-year-old grandson—have been unable to shower in the home.

Please note the price above is estimate guess for the repairs. She is doing her best to provide a safe and stable environment for her grandchildren, whom she is raising as a kinship caregiver, but this situation has placed an overwhelming burden on her. She has contacted multiple resources in search of help, including Franklin County Senior Options, LifeCare Alliance, Central Community House, Healthy Homes, and Modcon Living. Unfortunately, none of these organizations currently have available funding or services to address the urgent plumbing repair.

She is doing all she can for her grandchildren, but at this moment, she truly needs support. Any assistance would make a meaningful difference in restoring safety, dignity, and normalcy to this family's daily life.

This is a family of 7. The five children have diagnoses of Autism and their ages range from 7-17. The adults have serious health conditions as well. Thier home is experiencing a severe infestation of roaches and rodents. The department would like to provide the family with services of an exterminator to improve the conditions of their home, and this will allow the family to remain intact. I am working with a family whose young son has autism and demonstrates a strong tendency to elope when in public or outdoor settings. The family wants to participate in community activities and spend more time outdoors this summer to promote their son’s social engagement, sensory experiences, and overall well-being. However, safety remains a significant concern due to his impulsive running behaviors. After discussing various strategies and options with the family, we have determined that the use of a child safety harness would provide the most effective and supportive solution for managing this behavior while allowing the family to safely enjoy outings together. The father is the sole income earner, and the family is struggling to cover basic expenses, making it difficult for them to purchase a safety harness on their own. Thank you!

We are supporting a single mother who has recently reunited with her children with weekly meals and a prayer team. She has requested assistance with her utility bill to get caught up. As you may be aware, Dave Petke is in the hospital with a UTI and blood pressure problems. Sharon is not able to be at the hospital all the time, it wears her out and her health is not good enough for her to be there with him all the time. She’s tried just calling to check in, this morning she sat on hold for 45 minutes and had to call back three times before she finally got someone to answer. Someone is needed this week to sit with Dave each day between the hours of 8am-12pm to give Sharon time to get ready and get over there each day to be with him. I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
