The Foster Care Homes and the Licensing departments with Saint Francis works with relative, NRKIN, and general care foster homes, and tend to run into needs of these items listed to remain in compliance with DCF. SFM workers like to have these items on hand to help accommodate our families and ensuring they remain in compliance so children can remain in their home. Fire extinguishers, first aid kits, fire and CO2 detectors, and medication lock boxes are of the greatest need. Thank you for your consideration.

A single mother working to rebuild her life has recently secured a new apartment for herself and her child. She has just started a new job and is determined to provide a stable and safe environment for her family. However, due to limited financial resources, she is unable to afford the basic household items needed to make their new living space functional and comfortable.

Clothing needs: Mother - Women's size 2-4 in shirts, 34 length in pants, size 9 in shoes Baby clothing - Boy 6 months: wears 6-9 month clothing

We have a single mom that has been working really hard to get ahead for her and her son. She is in dire need of clothes and diapers for her little boy. He turns 6 the month of July. He is needing shoes size 3 Wide, Clothes size 8 to 10 and Diapers size 8.

I have a family of six that is currently renting a room from a tenant in a two bedroom apartment. The tenant is asking the family to move out but they have not been able to find a new home. The tenant constantly harasses the family and cuts off utilities. Currently, they are not able to use the stove as the tenant will yell and not allow this mother to cook. The family spends the entire day outside in the family car to avoid arguments. The family only comes inside the apartment to sleep. Father has to sleep in the family’s car outside. The family is low income and also has a pest problem in the room as they have to keep most of their pantry items in the room due to the issues in the home.

At this time, we would like to ask for assistance in obtaining the following items that will help the children have homemade meals and address the pest problem in the home: Tabletop 1 Burner Butane Camping Stove for cooking, Butane Gas Canister for a portable stove; Roach Traps

We are supporting a single mother who has recently reunited with her children with weekly meals and a prayer team. She has requested assistance with her utility bill to get caught up. As you may be aware, Dave Petke is in the hospital with a UTI and blood pressure problems. Sharon is not able to be at the hospital all the time, it wears her out and her health is not good enough for her to be there with him all the time. She’s tried just calling to check in, this morning she sat on hold for 45 minutes and had to call back three times before she finally got someone to answer. Someone is needed this week to sit with Dave each day between the hours of 8am-12pm to give Sharon time to get ready and get over there each day to be with him. Please do not share this need beyond our church family. You will be contacted with specifics of where to go when you select your day. Thank you!

I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Camp would provide her with a safe, uplifting environment and a chance to grow in confidence and faith during a time of major life change.
