Cobb county DFCS is hosting a graduation event on Friday 6/13/25 for the 17 youth successfully graduating (high school, GED, or college) and we had a photographer lined up who has had a family emergency. We are seeking a photographer for the event to celebrate this milestone with our foster youth. The photographer would be needed from around 10:30-1:30 on Friday. Payment may be feasible, but would not be able to be provided until after the event due to the year closing out with accounting and being unable to obtain a check by Friday.

Caregivers took in a baby girl into their home unexpectedly through court order. Baby has one leg shorter than the other and doctor recommended a walker or bouncer to help the baby with her growth and the size of her legs. A bath seat is also needed to give baby a bath where she is not slipping in the tub. Caregivers are in the process of applying for financial assistance and working on meeting the baby's needs.

We have a mom who is in need of transportation assistance to visit her child. This mom has been working very hard to see her daughter on a weekly basis. She works a full time job, participates in services and does not have a vehicle. This mom is working hard and rides the bus when she is able to, however, the bus does not stop close enough to her daughters placement. This causes her to have to walk a lengthy distance. Uber or Lyft financial support would help tremendously for this mom to be able to have more visitation with her daughter on a more consistent basis.

Grandma is coming in town to visit her 4 grandchildren (while we work on placing the children with her out of state) and she has paid for her own airfare, hotel and car rental but she wants to do more with them than just sit in the hotel room (they are in ages from 6 to 10) but her funds are limited after all her expenses and they would be appreciative of any gift cards so they can have something fun to do and grandma can buy some groceries for food.

Family in need of summer clothing for toddler boy and 9-year-old son. Toddler size 24 months. 9-Year-old shoe size 5 youth, shorts 14 and shirt 14 or large youth.

I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

An aunt is taking in her nephew that the mother lost custody of and the uncle took him in and now he recently lost custody. The child is 14 years old and the aunt is in need of a twin bed and mattress. The child is currently in a boys home so the aunt is going to take him in. Child needs clothing( XL shirt, 38x34 pants, (size 12) shoes, socks, (large) underwear and hygiene products.

We have a brave mother with young children who is a survivor of recent domestic violence, and we have been supporting this family in their journey toward stability. Unfortunately, the program we had arranged for them is no longer able to accept them. We urgently appeal to the community to help provide temporary housing for this mother and her children for the month, ensuring they have a safe roof over their heads. Meeting this need would not only offer immediate shelter but also give them the essential time to find another suitable program. This mother is currently 8 months pregnant, making it even more critical to secure a safe space for her and her children. Please join us in helping this young mother keep her family together and create a plan for their future.

A family of 6 with kids who are 12, 10, 3, 1 has moved into the SCV and is need of support. The father is currently looking for work to help support the family but currently they don't have any income. The family has rented an apartment, but they do not have sufficient beds or furniture for the family. The three year old is in need of a twin bed/mattress. The family also needs a dining room table and a couch. Any support would be helpful. Gently used furniture would be welcomed and appreciated.
