DHS is working with a mother of a 8 month old daughter. Mother is needing help with a phone and phone card and was recently release from CJC. Providing mother with a working phone and phone card will allow her with scheduling, maintaining, attending appointments and visitations with her child. DHS would like to ask for assistance in purchasing a phone and an unlimited pay as you go phone card please.

The mother of a 3 year old girl is in need of a car seat. Right now she is in a forward facing 5 point car seat. The mother is utilizing a former friends car seat right now while she has her daughter on the weekend. She is trying to cut ties with that person as she lost her housing and is currently struggling due to them. Though she works full time she is having to reside in a hotel until she can find permanent housing, which has been difficult. She cannot afford a new car seat for her daughter right now as she has recently had extra expenses due to her situation. She is a single parent and receives no support from the father. She also has another older daughter with her full time that she supports. If possible a convertible car seat would be ideal so that she won't have to buy a new one in the future when her daughter outgrows it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The family consists of a single mother and her son (12). The mother experienced one of the hardest 12 months of her life this last year. She was involved in a car accident that totaled her vehicle, which ultimately resulted in her losing her job, which resulted in her home going into foreclosure, and then family keeping her son while she experienced near homelessness and despair. Despite all of these hurdles, this mother did not give up! She fought every obstacle with creativity, diligence, optimism, and resourcefulness even in the face of the darkest days. She now has a vehicle, a job, and although she's residing in an extended stay hotel, she's "this close" to obtaining a place for her and her son. It has been an honor to walk along aside this mother and see her drive to fight all the hurdles and hardships she's faced. She never gave up! Her son is attending his last year at the YMCA Summer Camp Program and they have provided the family with a wonderful discount. Would you (or more than one of you?) consider giving to this need and helping her cover the costs of her son's last year with this program? Also, this provides this mother with peace of mind knowing he's engaged in an all day program rather than staying in the hotel. The mother has four children age from 2-6 years old. The mother has moved to a new community due to her being in a domestic violence relationship. The mother has obtained an order of protection against the father; the children are included also. Due to the mother recent move, she doesn't have air in her home. She is now responsible for getting an air conditioner and she has to provide her own air conditioner. The home consists of three bedrooms the two-year-old toddler doesn't have her own bed. The mother doesn't have a sofa. The mother has a job she is not able to work due to her being off work for the summer.

SW, a 16-year-old boy, has faced a lot of instability since entering foster care in early 2021 due to unmanageable behaviors. After several temporary placements, his stepmother recently stepped forward to welcome him into her home—offering a chance at the stability he desperately needs.

To help him feel truly at home, we're hoping to provide him with a dresser. Having a designated place to keep his clothes and personal items may seem small, but it goes a long way in giving him a sense of ownership and belonging. We are supporting a single mother who has recently reunited with her children with weekly meals and a prayer team. She has requested assistance with her utility bill to get caught up. As you may be aware, Dave Petke is in the hospital with a UTI and blood pressure problems. Sharon is not able to be at the hospital all the time, it wears her out and her health is not good enough for her to be there with him all the time. She’s tried just calling to check in, this morning she sat on hold for 45 minutes and had to call back three times before she finally got someone to answer. Someone is needed this week to sit with Dave each day between the hours of 8am-12pm to give Sharon time to get ready and get over there each day to be with him. I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Camp would provide her with a safe, uplifting environment and a chance to grow in confidence and faith during a time of major life change.
