Mrs. Crews is a beloved foster parent to our teenagers in St. John's county. She has one teenage boy who has very recently returned to St. John's County after having completed a therapeutic program at an out of county group home. He is in need of some items as the school year will be starting before we know it and he is need of some clothes as he no longer fits in the clothes we have had in storage. Her second teenage boy has been in her care for about a year but is also in need of clothes as he has been more active recently and is starting to outgrow the items he has.

A kinship caregiver is needing assistance with her rent payment for the month. The caregiver has taken in her 4-month-old nephew and due to buying all of the necessities that the child did not have, has come up short on her rent payment. In addition to her nephew in the home, the caregiver has 2 children in her home that will now be at risk of losing their housing. The caregiver is waiting for her caregiver funds to start and has only just started the process for foster care. If assisted, the caregiver and her family will continue to have stable housing and will not have the fear of losing it or having to find a new home. Any assistance is appreciated!

When the request is met the family will have continue to have a stable household without concern for housing.

A single mom raising three children is in need of one large or two sm-med window unit air conditioners. After months of reaching out to her landlord she has finally been told that the central a/c will not be repaired and it is her responsibility to provide window units. She is currently unemployed and struggling with food security so purchasing these units is not feasible for her.

We are looking to help a young mom of 4 children. Her second oldest son is severely autistic (non-verbal), and suffers from ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder). He attends a school year round in Wytheville, but specific foods have to be provided to the school, and of course at home too. She does have food assistance, however much of the funds are consumed by his very specific food requirements. We are entering this request in the form of a monthly "sponsorship", hoping that multiple churches, individuals, organizations will sign up to sponsor 1 month over the course of the next year. We believe we will then enter a new request the following year.

The mom has suggested that the food be delivered directly to the school (which would cover 2 of his 3 meals each day), or food items can be provided to her home (in Pulaski County). Addresses will be provided for those who sign up to help. Food needs to be delivered to either the school or her home by the 15th of the month that you sign up to help. Specific food items include: 6 boxes (family size) of Nabisco Chicken in a Biskit crackers ($36), 4 bags Doritos spicy Chile flavor ($24), 3 12 packs Lipton Diet Green tea ($21) and 4 boxes Kroger Brand strawberry frosted pastries ($10) - total around $100 per month.

Mother of 5 recently reunified with her children and case was closed by Child Welfare. The children have many special needs and mother is struggling with gas money to take them to all their appointments. Our Social Worker is working on sustainable solutions including budgeting and other long term resources available, but we are requesting assistance with gas card in the interim.

The youth is 15 years old. He resides with his mother and adult brother. The mother is currently seeking employment and household income is very limited. The youth struggles with confidence/self-esteem issues and is currently sleeping on a pallet in the home. The youth is in need of bedding to help assist with disparities within the home. The youth is currently receiving counseling services with Youth Villages and attends several summer camp workshops during the summer.

A family from Lincoln got a notice from the Health Department last week that their rental is being condemned due to lead poisoning. They will be moving out tomorrow and searching for another rental. The family needs some time to be able to find a home that fits their budget and time to be able to strengthen the health of their kids who have been impacted by the lead. We are hoping to provide the family with a one week hotel stay, some giftcards for meals and homecook meals while they are without a kitchen. This family is naturally on top of things; however, this has a large impact on them. What a great way to show and share the love of Jesus with them by stepping in.

This request is for a single mom who has four children- 11 years, 7 years, 1 year, & 2 months. She has no transportation, so she is walking the family everywhere. Given the ages of the children, they all have to go out together. The double stroller is for the 1 year-old and the baby, to make outings more feasible and safe. The donation can be new or gently used. You can drop the stroller off at Woodstock City Church or at Children's Haven, whichever is more convenient.

There is a family with four children, 3 of which are special needs, that got placed in police protective custody this week due to abuse. The children were removed and all 4 (ages 6,4,4,3) are needing beds for their placements. This is an evolving situation and other needs may arise, but the beds are the most immediate need. A local family in need has been identified by our church. She lost her job and is trying to sell her house because otherwise she is going to lose it. This is one of those situations where circumstances have snowballed into a big mess. She's trying to get back on her feet, but the burden is heavy and discouraging. She needs a hand up. They have food for today and tomorrow. We would like to offer assistance with alleviating some of the bills that are piling up and helping the family to secure quality food options.

We are seeking the funds to pay their electricity bill so that the power can remain on, the phone bill so that she can maintain contact with their realtor as they try to sell the house, and funds for a grocery gift card.
