I’m supporting a family made up of a mother and her two children. They recently moved to a cheaper apartment to save money. They had to throw out a lot of their things because of an insect problem. Right now, they’re asking if it’s possible to get two mattresses with bases, so the kids have somewhere to sleep.

DHHS started working with the family due to educational neglect concerns for one of the children in the home. There are 5 children under the age of 10 involved in this case. In March 2025, four of the children came into the custody of their father full time and DHHS has been helping their father with getting resources for the children care. In May 2025, the fifth child (10 months old) came to live with dad. Dad has been working on finding beds for all of the children during this time and was able to get a bulk bed frame for one of the rooms. However, he needs mattress for the bed.

We are requesting help getting two twin mattresses for the bed for the children in this home.

This family consists of a father, his elderly mother, and 2 children (8 and 10). Father suffers from a TBI after sustaining a head injury at work a few years ago. Since then, Father has been unable to work. Father has not been granted disability status and has been dealing with that process for two years in order to receive benefits. The family lives on paternal grandmother's limited income. She recently stopped working due to age-related issues. The family has been experiencing increased conflict in the home due to the stress of wondering how the bills will get paid this month. The family's gas($109), electric($226), and water ($139) bills are due. They are requesting assistance.

The mama we're supporting is so overwhelmed. She and her husband have one daughter and a second on the way. Recently, her parents became homeless and she took in her 6 siblings to help maintain their stability. The additional costs have been significant, but they've been able to manage. This month, however, they've struggled to keep up with utility bills. We're requesting your support to pay their electric bill which is now past due. We asked her to provide their Consumers Energy bill including the account number so it can be paid directly. Your commitment will ease the burden and stress load on the small family as they work together to find a lasting solution.

CPS worker rec'd a call from a mom asking help with a baby swing for her 9 month old baby girl. Mother is trying to give full support to take care of her baby despite her past history. A baby swing will help mom soothe baby when mom needs a break from holding the baby during overwhelming moments.

A young mom and dad of three small children are needing assistance with childcare for the summer. They have secured more affordable childcare but it does not begin until September. Currently childcare costs are 275.00 a week for three children (including one infant). Mom and Dad are able to pay 175 out of pocket but need help with the rest. They have been able to secure part of the money needed from friends but are still needing 800 dollars to ensure all three kids have safe childcare through the summer. In September, the cost will decrease to the point where mom and dad can afford it on their own.

Single mother of two was recently laid off due to her not having childcare. The mother was taken five-year-old child to work with her to continue to make ends meet. She is a recent divorce, and former husband is not willing to help. Family is facing eviction June 25, 2025, if mother doesn’t pay pass due rent ($1,192) and late fees.

Family of four is facing eviction July 17, 2025. Family needs $7,000 to keep their family together and current home. Father recently laid off from work and is looking for long term employment. Father is a licensed painter and willing to work.

A young family of 2 children ages 1 and 7 years old are requesting a dryer as they moved into a house from an apartment. The couple have been here from Venezuela for about 2.5 years and help out at Centro Cristiano a Las Naciones with leading music. They moved from an apartment which had a washer and dryer and now they need to provide for their own. The father is looking for work and does odd jobs to help pay for rent, bills, food, clothing, etc. A dryer will help mom take care of her kids so that they will be able to attend school and help their hygiene.
