This request is on behalf of a foster family currently providing placement for a child who is medically underweight. The family is in need of grocery assistance to help support the child's nutritional needs and promote healthy weight gain. The Department is tasked with providing youth with a stroller for his one-year-old child.The youth has expressed the need for a three wheel stroller so he can take his child out of the home.Over the past two months, the youth has continued to display growth and maturity as he is in full compliance with probation, delinquency court, followed placement rules and remained in care. The youth continues to make strides in his academic success as he attends school weekly. Outside of school, The youth began working with a friend working construction Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. The youth is an active father visiting with his 1 year old son several days throughout the week as well as occasional overnight visits. The youth maintains his son is a huge influence and motivation for him to continue to do well in order to lead by an example and be a consistent father. The Department has identified the following strengths: the youth is open and receptive to professional support, has insight into life problems and trauma, and how they affect their daily life. The youth also has the ability to self-advocate. The youth’s goals are to remain in care, graduate high school and work/fulltime so that he can provide for his son. For these reasons, I am advocating for youth to have the need met in order to provide additional support resources for to the youth. Family is in need of a booster car seat for their 4 year old child and have very limited financial resources to be able to purchase.

Parents have a daughter 3 and son 1. The family currently has an open case and have made steady improvements to ensure they can care the children. The mother is a full-time student working towards her degree in psychology, she’s expected to finish this summer. The father has a small business where he fixes and sells cars. The children are developmentally on target and thriving with their parents. The mother is currently on disability due to postpartum complications after giving birth. She works a couple hours through work study on campus. The parents currently spend most of their money on rent and household expenses leaving little money for big purchase items. The 3 yr old sleeps with the parents and the 1 yr old has outgrown his bassinet. They need a bunkbed that the children will be able to grow into and use for many years. The family is also searching for a dresser to store the kid’s cloths. Currently they use plastic bins that are falling apart. Family of four is facing eviction July 17, 2025. Family needs $7,000 to keep their family together and current home. Father recently laid off from work and is looking for long term employment. Father is a licensed painter and willing to work.

A young family of 2 children ages 1 and 7 years old are requesting a dryer as they moved into a house from an apartment. The couple have been here from Venezuela for about 2.5 years and help out at Centro Cristiano a Las Naciones with leading music. They moved from an apartment which had a washer and dryer and now they need to provide for their own. The father is looking for work and does odd jobs to help pay for rent, bills, food, clothing, etc. A dryer will help mom take care of her kids so that they will be able to attend school and help their hygiene. A elderly lady within our church community is in need of furniture for her apartment. She has been living in the senior living apartments for over 2 months and does not have what’s needed to make her home a comfortable living environment. She has a bed and a tv. She is in need of towels, linen for her bed, kitchen towels, dishes, sofa, table and chairs, Anything you can do to assist her would be greatly appreciated.
