The mother recently moved into her own place. She is the sole provider for 5 boys and is currently getting a disability check to maintain the bills in the home. This mother has done everything to get her children back and has made every step possible to ensure her children's needs are being met. The last step to help this family become successful is getting furniture so the children can thrive and flourish in the home. The mother could use all the help possible and would be grateful for anything that is provided.

We have experienced an increase in domestic violence cases the past several months, and at times we are placing kids with relatives or an abused person is staying in the home while filing an ex parte. We are hoping to get some supplies in the office to help supply some needs that could assist with safety. We plan to include a list of tips to help a family buy some time if their abuser breaks into the home. Unfortunately, we have had a few cases that could have used some extra safety measures and might have made a difference to the outcome. I am asking for a few supplies for us to be able to give to some families if needed in an emergency situations. All items can be found on amazon. Thank you!

This family we have helped before. She was removed from an abusive home and moved into Covington with her children and has struggled to make ends meet. Her apartment is now asking her to leave, but she has secured a place in Clifton but needs help moving some things to her new place. She has 2 children and has a very hard medical diagnosis that has been keeping her bills high. She will need a truck or trailer to haul some things. I have this valued at $10 because it's not really a monetary need. She has also requested to have someone sit with her to help her work out her financial budget. She is really doing her hardest to take care of her family.

A single mom with a 3 year old is working hard to give her daughter a different childhood experience than she had. After moving into their mobile home this year, the mom has done her best to make it a space where she and her daughter can bond, laugh, and feel comfortable and safe together in. One thing that the mom would really appreciate having would be a small kitchen table that she and her daughter can share meals together at Her daughter actually loves to eat fruits & veggies, and the mom wants to encourage her to continue enjoying healthy foods while also trying more proteins. Being able to sit together at a table for meals would help this mom and her daughter continue to build a healthy attachment to each other and lay the foundation of having a solid routine with family at the center. Due to the small space of the kitchen, I have selected some options that may work well in the space. The family is in need of grocery assistance to help support the child's nutritional needs and promote healthy weight gain. The Department is tasked with providing youth with a stroller for his one-year-old child.The youth has expressed the need for a three wheel stroller so he can take his child out of the home.Over the past two months, the youth has continued to display growth and maturity as he is in full compliance with probation, delinquency court, followed placement rules and remained in care. The youth continues to make strides in his academic success as he attends school weekly. Outside of school, The youth began working with a friend working construction Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. The youth is an active father visiting with his 1 year old son several days throughout the week as well as occasional overnight visits. The youth maintains his son is a huge influence and motivation for him to continue to do well in order to lead by an example and be a consistent father. The Department has identified the following strengths: the youth is open and receptive to professional support, has insight into life problems and trauma, and how they affect their daily life. The youth also has the ability to self-advocate. The youth’s goals are to remain in care, graduate high school and work/fulltime so that he can provide for his son. For these reasons, I am advocating for youth to have the need met in order to provide additional support resources for to the youth.
