After long days filled with treatment sessions, work, parenting responsibilities, and the emotional labor of rebuilding their lives, our ladies need a place to rest. A television may seem small, but it can offer a meaningful moment of calm—a way to decompress, laugh, connect with one another, and experience a bit of normalcy in an otherwise intense season of life.

Rest is not a luxury—it’s a necessary part of healing. Creating a comfortable space to relax helps our women reduce stress, recharge, and remain focused on the hard work of restoration, including rebuilding relationships with their children.

This request is being submitted on behalf of a Hope Florida participant that is a single mom of 3 children. This mom lost her home and has been sleeping here and there with friends and family for the last 2 years. She had been staying with her aunt recently but unfortunately was asked to leave making her homeless again. The father of the children does not provide financial or emotional assistance to the children. This family is suffering financially as mom is disabled on a limited income. Additionally, she has been going through some very difficult times which have made her seek for mental health services. The children are lacking appropriate clothing and baby items. The 6-year-old needs school supplies and a backpack to return to school. With your help these children will have the appropriate clothing and supplies they desperately need. A young man just entered care as a 17 year old. He is looking for a job but does not have a car. After entering care he was able to get his drivers license but needs to get a job to save for a car. This scooter would help him get to interviews and to his job without relying on his kinship home.

The caregiver's 2 months old niece was just placed in her care and is in immediate need of diapers size 2 and baby wipes for the child. The caregiver is on a fixed income and could really use the items to for the infant's immediate needs.

Young lady in the DCS Bright Futures Program is in need of rental assistance to help carry her over until her unborn child's father gets his first paycheck. She was employed, but due to being 8 months pregnant was let go from her job. She plans to start working again after the baby is born. The baby's father changed jobs & will make enough to pay the rent once it is caught up. They are two months behind on rent. DCS Independent Living Wrap funds are approved to pay 1/2 of the overdue rent, in the amount of $1775. Another community partner has agreed to pay $500. So, this young lady needs $1275 to catch up on her rent. Any help toward the outstanding rent balance would be appreciated.

Request Details: A single mother of three children (ages 3 to 8) is facing an extremely difficult season. Her 8-year-old son was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment, which required her to resign from her job in order to care for him full-time.

She is also currently expecting twins (a boy and a girl) and does not have any baby items or support prepared for their arrival. The financial strain of her son’s illness and loss of income has left her unable to pay her rent and utilities, now totaling $2,000, and she is at immediate risk of becoming homeless.

We have engine trouble in help in getting to work, my car is not covered

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. We would like to help reduce any additional stress that would trigger any seizures episodes from occurring from having to move. Your help will keep this young family from becoming unhoused.
