Story
A report has come to our attention regarding four children who are currently facing the challenge of living without electricity for over a week. Their mother is struggling with an electric bill that has reached $2800. In the absence of power, the children have been relying on a neighbor for showers and a place to sleep, while their mother prepares meals on a grill set up on the front porch. She has managed to keep a cooler stocked with fruits, vegetables, and other essentials for their nourishment. Mom, a dedicated worker at The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City, supports these children, who are all enrolled in summer school there. While she has applied for assistance through LIHEAP and received approval, it's crucial that the electric bill be reduced before LIHEAP can contribute $300 towards it. Let’s rally together to find a solution for this family in need.
