Mother experiencing financial hardship without assistance from father. Requesting assistance with a sofa bed that seats 3. Family lives in a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom home. A sofa bed will provide a less cramped living and sleeping arrangement. This will also reduce stress and anxiety as well as improve overall well being for the whole family.

62197941-A dedicated and loving caregiver who has taken on the challenge of raising two children, ages 10 and 7, sought help from OhioKAN to address urgent repairs in their home to ensure a safer environment for the children and the entire family. The caregiver applied for two local home improvement grants. Traditionally, the family has taken pride in their ability to care for each other and manage household expenses. However, with her husband’s retirement leading to a significant reduction in their income and our caregiver currently unable to work, they are facing financial constraints. They would be immensely grateful for any assistance in replacing and/or installing exterior and interior doors, which would greatly enhance safety and stability in their home. Below are the needed tasks! We have a devoted adoptive and foster mom to five amazing children—ages 1, 4, 5, 6, and 14. She’s adopted three and fosters two, creating a loving home where every child feels safe and valued.

Recently, she received heartbreaking news: one of her children has been diagnosed with a terminal condition. As she pours her love and energy into caring for her child and keeping her family strong, the everyday needs continue to grow.

With summer here, her children are in need of clothing, shoes, and basic essentials. Gift cards to places like Target or Walmart would go a long way in helping this family provide for them without added stress. These simple things summer outfits, socks, sandals, even school supplies would bring comfort and a sense of normalcy during a very difficult time.

I am writing to request support for a child who was recently returned to their guardian’s care through reunification. During their time in foster care and the transition back home, many of the child’s clothing items were lost or outgrown. As a result, they are currently without essential summer clothing.

At this time, the child is in need of basic seasonal items such as shorts, t-shirts, sandals, swimwear, and undergarments. These items are not only necessary for daily comfort and participation in outdoor activities, but also vital in helping the child feel a sense of stability and dignity as they adjust to their new environment.

Any level of assistance would be greatly appreciated. Your support will make a meaningful difference in this child’s life and help ensure they are equipped for a safe and healthy summer.

Pike DHR is working a foster care with 4 children. A relative took in all 4 children, but is in need of one set of bunk beds and mattresses for the beds. They would also like comforters and pillows. These are boys aged 9 and 11.

Newly arrived Special Immigrant Visa holder family of 7 who fled from Afghanistan (US allies) is needing a bunkbed for 4 daughters to settle into a single bedroom in their 2 BR-1BA apartment this week.

Unfortunately, due to limited space in bedroom (needing to fit 2 sets of bunk beds), twin bunk beds will fit better than full bunk beds, so probably not flexible on that aspect of this request.

Depending on the bunk bed frame that you donate, we may or may not need box springs, so I didn't add those explicitly to this request.

We have a youth accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College starting in August. She will definitely need a laptop for school. Although her tuition should be covered by the state through the Independent Living Program (ILP), she will be living on campus and will have to pay her own dorm fees, ($400 per month). She will have a job on campus to try to cover those fees, but is also working now trying to save up for a car. She would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide to set her up well to succeed at school. Please join us in praying for this youth!

Backpacks & BBQ is an annual outreach event hosted by Middletown Nazarene Church that brings together our church, community, and local partners to support students and families preparing for the school year. We provide free backpacks, serve a full cookout-style meal, and offer a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for children in need in our community.

Each summer, hundreds of neighbors come together at our church for this day of joy and generosity. Children leave ready to start school with confidence and dignity — and families leave knowing they are seen, supported, and loved.

As part of this event, we want to provide sanitary and hygiene products for the students, so they can go back to school with confidence.

We have a dear NKT family of 6 (mom, grandma, and 4 children) who do not have beds to sleep in nor living room furniture to sit on. We want to bless this family by outfitting their home with these furniture items. We will look for good quality, previously owned items on Facebook Marketplace.

*The twin beds and bedding are for boys, all under 12 years old. *The queen bedding is for grandma/mom. *If box springs are not available, we will purchase mattress/box spring hybrids.

A single mom going through a divorce is trying to become financially independent. She currently makes very little income, and needs assistance to help pay for gas so she can drive her children to school and different activities while she looks for work.
