One of our moms just got out of rehab and was able to be reunified with her son! She was accepted into a housing program to be able to leave an abusive boyfriend and needs some gas money to be able to get started as she goes to and from work!

We are currently serving a survivor of trafficking who is a single mom of five (all ages 5 and under). Over the past 2.5 years, her biggest priority has been her kids and making a better life for them.

This month, she is in the process of moving into a bigger place! She is moving from a two bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house, which will be much more accommodating for her family’s unique needs.

With more space, comes the need for more furniture. We are asking for a refrigerator, a washer and dryer. These are all items that were provided with her apartment but will not be able to take with her to her house and needs them. She is also needing a table and chairs as she did not have space for them but will now!

Disclaimer: She is set to move in July 1st, so we would not need the items delivered until AFTER that date due to lack of space.

We are going to Summer Camp!! We are taking 11 teen moms, 5 mentors, 13 babies, and 5 childcare volunteers to summer camp! A few of the girls almost dropped but we learned it was because they needed stuff for camp but were too nervous to ask. These girls are going to experience being a teenager again and will get to bond with their babies, have a warm bed for 5 nights, and will have full meals all day long. They will get to hear about how loved they are by God and create mom community! So we need some help fulfilling needs!

Mom #3 Blanket

I am working with a low income family that has recently moved to Missouri with minimal personal belongings. Their home is very old and needs a lot of work which they are working on. To help improve their daily living and make the home safer for the two adults and two children within the home I am requesting some house hold items for the family. There is no air conditioning within the home so I am requesting a AC unit, however, they have small windows. So I don't think a window AC unit would fit. They are also in need of beds for both of the children, a boy toddler bed and a girl twin size bed with sheets, pillows, and blankets for both. The parents have a bed but do not have bedding for the queen size bed so I am also requesting sheets and blankets for them as well. Because they have small children in the home and are working on renovations I am also requesting a baby gate to help keep the kids safe. I was able to supply the family with some cleaning and hygiene products but they could use more. Such as a broom, mop, floor cleaner, cleaning wipes, etc.; and deodorant for the parents, shampoo and conditioner, and soap for the two children etc.

Mother is currently having a lot of financial struggles. She is currently late in their electricity and their gas bill. After the children were return to her care, she had trouble with DPSS approving her food stamps back. Once they were finally approved, they were lowered and she had already ranked up some debt. Mother is a client of Regional Center, She has complied with all her court orders. Although, mother and her family are having financial challenges, they continue to meet the children’s needs. During my work with the family, I have identified the following strengths: Family unity and support, willingness to take responsibility, and willingness to complete all court orders. The main reason I am requesting this need to be fulfilled is because the family may be affected if the electricity and the gas is cut off. Electricity and gas are basic needs for the home. Having electricity and gas is an essential need to ensure child safety, improve parental capacity and maintain a safe environment for all the children while fostering emotional, physical, behavioral, and educational well-being. This need is critical to ensuring that the child basic needs are being met and giving mother a better physical capacity to care for the children. This need is being requested through Care Portal because DCFS does not have an approved budget at this time. The estimated cost of the need/s being requested is around 300$ gas bill. Plus around $600 for the electricity bill.

Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. If you happen to have one in good condition that you could give her that is great or here is an option if you would be available and willing to purchase one. A single mom with an 8-month-old is living with her mother and does not have a bed for herself. She needs a full or queen-size bed (frame, mattress, and box springs) plus bedding. A small floor fan (not a ceiling fan) is also needed for the bedroom. This mom is part of the Napier community that Harpeth Hills serves.

Newly arrived Special Immigrant Visa holder family of 7 who fled from Afghanistan (US allies) is needing a bunkbed for 4 daughters to settle into a single bedroom in their 2 BR-1BA apartment this week.

Unfortunately, due to limited space in bedroom (needing to fit 2 sets of bunk beds), twin bunk beds will fit better than full bunk beds, so probably not flexible on that aspect of this request.

Depending on the bunk bed frame that you donate, we may or may not need box springs, so I didn't add those explicitly to this request.

We have a youth accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College starting in August. She will definitely need a laptop for school. Although her tuition should be covered by the state through the Independent Living Program (ILP), she will be living on campus and will have to pay her own dorm fees, ($400 per month). She will have a job on campus to try to cover those fees, but is also working now trying to save up for a car. She would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide to set her up well to succeed at school. Please join us in praying for this youth!
