This request is for two single mothers who have merged their households together to strengthen their support systems for their children. These two families have a total of four children under the age of 5. These two mothers are essentially starting over in a new apartment with no furniture and no basic necessities to run the household. One family was previously in a domestic violence situation that they are recovering from and are in need of community supports because the father destroyed all of their belongings. The other mother is trying to start over and enrolling in school. The families are in need of bedroom furniture, living room furniture and kitchen utensils. We know that all of these needs might not be able to be met but any help to support these two women and their children starting over would be greatly appreciated.

A mother is requesting financial assistance to help her pay her re-instatement fee, so she can get her valid state drivers license back. The mother is currently a Family Treatment Drug Court participant and is currently unemployed. This would benefit the household by allowing the mother to drive legally and transport herself to and from her treatment and employment interviews. The fee for re-instatement is $95. I have attached the documentation with this request.

These kinship providers are caring for a 7 year old and a 4 month old. They are looking for a bumboo seat for the baby to be able to sit up as he is slightly delayed an unable to sit up himself.

The caregiver recently got the placement of her young grandson; care giver also has 4 children of her own. She is the sole caregiver and provider for her children with lack of family support. The caregiver recently increased her hours and has been working around the clock to catch up on rent and bills. Despite all the caregiver’s efforts, she was issued final notice for payment of rent. The caregiver and the children will be evicted on Tuesday. We are requesting $500 in order to get the caregiver and her family into a motel while they get all their housing in order.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS NEEDED! DHS is involved with this family due to DV between Mom and BF. Dad has stepped up to help his daughters (12,15) and meets with them on different occasions throughout the week. Dad is disabled and doing the best he can. We are asking for help with school uniforms, $200 is requested. We have a single mom with her two children and their pet that we just moved into an apartment, but the landlord wants a pet deposit and will not waive it although he did discount it. Any small donations will be greatly appreciated

A single mom raising three children is in need of one large or two sm-med window unit air conditioners. After months of reaching out to her landlord she has finally been told that the central a/c will not be repaired and it is her responsibility to provide window units. She is currently unemployed and struggling with food security so purchasing these units is not feasible for her.

A family from Lincoln got a notice from the Health Department last week that their rental is being condemned due to lead poisoning. They will be moving out tomorrow and searching for another rental. The family needs some time to be able to find a home that fits their budget and time to be able to strengthen the health of their kids who have been impacted by the lead. We are hoping to provide the family with a one week hotel stay, some giftcards for meals and homecook meals while they are without a kitchen. This family is naturally on top of things; however, this has a large impact on them. What a great way to show and share the love of Jesus with them by stepping in.

This request is for a single mom who has four children- 11 years, 7 years, 1 year, & 2 months. She has no transportation, so she is walking the family everywhere. Given the ages of the children, they all have to go out together. The double stroller is for the 1 year-old and the baby, to make outings more feasible and safe. The donation can be new or gently used. You can drop the stroller off at Woodstock City Church or at Children's Haven, whichever is more convenient.

A local family in need has been identified by our church. She lost her job and is trying to sell her house because otherwise she is going to lose it. This is one of those situations where circumstances have snowballed into a big mess. She's trying to get back on her feet, but the burden is heavy and discouraging. She needs a hand up. They have food for today and tomorrow. We would like to offer assistance with alleviating some of the bills that are piling up and helping the family to secure quality food options.

We are seeking the funds to pay their electricity bill so that the power can remain on, the phone bill so that she can maintain contact with their realtor as they try to sell the house, and funds for a grocery gift card.
