Story
A single mother of two is working services in a preservation case to improve the safety of her two children. One thing this mother is struggling with is safe sleeping for her 3-month-old infant. She has a bassinette that is not a safe option, so she has been co-sleeping with her child every night. DHS has talked to her in depth about the dangers of co-sleeping and she agrees but does not have the finances for a more appropriate bed. She is also very worried about SIDS and not being able to keep her eye on her child at night. DHS has asked her if she would be willing to use a bassinet if it could be the same height as her bed with a see through mesh and she said she would. The desired bassinet is a combo pack n' play so she won't have to replace it as her child grows. It is a 5 in 1 pack and play with changing table, bassinet bedside sleeper, portable baby crib. We would greatly appreciate any assistance in helping this mother correct this concern so that nothing happens to her infant during sleep. Thank you so much.
