I've received a request for a laptop computer to help a mom improve her education so she can better the lives of her family.

We have a family who is expecting a new baby any day now. They need all things to take care of the baby as they are refugees and do not have enough income or family to help them. They need newborn diapers and wipes, a stroller, nongender specific baby clothes, baby blanket, baby bottles, and assorted baby care items. They also need hygiene materials like shampoo, deodorant, bath soap, hand soap, body lotion, toothpaste and toothbrushes for the adults (I've listed them as "supplies" in the request).

Mother and 15 year old child have been treating their home for bed bugs. Bed bugs are currently confined to one bedroom. Family is requesting assistance with bed bug extermination or would be grateful if someone could help purchase bed bug sprays and bombs for the home so that they can continue to try to eradicate the bed bugs on their own. The expense of purchasing these items on an ongoing basis is causing a financial strain. They have been bombing as well as using diatomaceous earth to treat the problem. They have mattress encasements to protect the beds. They are also vacuuming and using high heat to treat as well. Anything to help the family stop the spread of the bed bugs and or eradicate them would be beneficial.

A mother has recently escaped a domestic violence situation and is dedicated to moving forward by engaging in the necessary therapy to empower herself. Upon leaving, she was forced to abandon all her possessions. Currently, she is working with an attorney who has arranged for a moving company, Two Men and a Truck, to retrieve her belongings this Saturday. However, she faces a financial shortfall, as she cannot cover the full cost of the move, which totals $380. While she has secured assistance to pay half of this amount, she still requires an additional $190. Additionally, the mother is actively participating in unsupervised visits with her young son and hopes to reunify with him once she achieves stability. Any support to help meet this financial need would be greatly appreciated.

A mother on my caseload has recently obtained housing for herself and her five children, and is working hard to furnish her home prior to reunification. This family loves to spend time together, but currently has to sit on the floor in their living room when they want to watch movies or play games with each other during visits. Overnight visits with the kids will be starting shortly, and I know that they would all appreciate having a comfortable space in the living room to enjoy each other's company prior to reunification.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.

Young Spanish speaking couple just had 3rd child 6 weeks ago. Momma has not been able to get back to work yet and they are struggling on one income to make rent due beginning of July! Church of the Nativity has supported them and looking for additional church support from the community this month. Thank you!!

We have been connected to a family who is fostering through DHHS. This foster family has placement of 3 little children (ages from 4-8) that they are in the process of adopting. They had their washing machine and air conditioning break down in the same week and only had the funds to replace one, so they prioritized the air conditioning for the summer heat wave we had this past week. The family had a high capacity 5.3 cu-ft top-load washing machine to be able to meet with laundry demands of their family and would like their replacement to have a similar capacity and similarly top-loading. The youngest child has some higher needs and frequently wets the bed which requires regular use of a washing machine for larger bedding items. The family consulted a technician who reported the costs of the repair for the washing machine would be at least $800 and the technician recommended buying a new one over paying for repairs. The listed cost is for a 5.3 cu-ft top-load with delivery from Lowe's.

A mom and her five children urgently need to relocate due to an escalating domestic violence situation. After leaving an abusive relationship four years ago and working hard to build a stable life, her safety has once again been compromised. She has made the decision to move to another state where she has supportive family and has already secured permission to transfer her housing voucher and end her current lease. The family would like to rent a U-haul to transport their household to their new location.A quote for the U-haul has been acquired and totals: $1,375.97 Gift cards to Walmart or Amazon ($300) would also be helpful in setting up their new home once they arrive.

A mom of three recently found herself a single parent. She has found an apartment but needs assistance with the first month's rent (750.00).
