We are submitting this request because a very wonderful church community discovered an unmet need for our family (a young, single mom raising a toddler.) The dressers she has for herself and her baby are inadequate to the task and need to be replaced. Our family is incredibly grateful for the assistance she is receiving and that gratitude translates to more energy for the important things she is doing to improve life for her son. He will grow up in a family that knows gratitude -- an important foundation of spiritual fitness.

The agency is in need of a supply of safety items to overcome potential barriers for kinship placements. We are requesting 10 smoke detectors, 10 gun safety locks, 10 packs of outlet covers, 10 packs of cabinet safety locks and 10 small medication lockboxes. Having access to these items will allow families to quickly address immediate safety concerns in order for a child to be placed in their home.

A family of five was recently displaced after their rental home caught fire. The family did not have rental insurance and lost all their belongings. They are currently staying in a hotel while they seek to secure a new apartment. Although they receive SNAP benefits, these cannot be replaced due to the inability to obtain an incident report from the landlord. The family is experiencing financial hardship due to hotel expenses and has been visiting food pantries for assistance. They are in need of meat and would appreciate a grocery gift card to purchase some until their July SNAP benefits are available on their benefits card.

Young mother of 4 month old baby who was previously in foster care in need of small room window A/C unit. The mother and baby live with the maternal grandmother and 2 uncles and there is only an a/c in the maternal grandmother's room. The mother and baby sleep in the mother's room and is dangerously warm in there for the baby. The baby was in foster care after being born and the mother has worked very hard to get the child out of care, keep a safe environment for him and continue with her parenting education. This would help the mother and the baby stay safe and healthy.

We are currently supporting a teenager residing in a group home due to being sheltered from his parents. Since entering care, our team has ensured that he is up to date with all medical and dental needs, including the prescription of eyeglasses that significantly aid him in his daily activities. Unfortunately, as is common with teenagers, he has misplaced both pairs of eyeglasses, and the group home staff has been unable to locate them. Although we have obtained a new prescription, Medicaid will not cover the cost of the replacement glasses. We are seeking assistance to raise $89 to purchase a new pair for this child, and any support would be greatly appreciated.

Request Details: A single mother of three children (ages 3 to 8) is facing an extremely difficult season. Her 8-year-old son was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment, which required her to resign from her job in order to care for him full-time.

She is also currently expecting twins (a boy and a girl) and does not have any baby items or support prepared for their arrival. The financial strain of her son’s illness and loss of income has left her unable to pay her rent and utilities, now totaling $2,000, and she is at immediate risk of becoming homeless.

We have engine trouble in help in getting to work, my car is not covered

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. We would like to help reduce any additional stress that would trigger any seizures episodes from occurring from having to move. Your help will keep this young family from becoming unhoused.
