We are requesting a motel night for 2 more nights. The mother and small child are waiting on an opening at a shelter or for the alleged perp to be moved from the shared residence. We thought this would happen today, but it is not going to move as fast as we wanted. Shelters have been contacted and waiting on an opening or approval. The mother and child could use a gas card and some food either taken to them or by way of gift card to price chopper or hyvee.

Mother is receiving family reunification services through the Department of Children and Family Services. Mother has made substantial progress in addressing case issues and has complied with the DCFS and Court ordered treatment plan. The court has granted mother overnight visits with her children, ages 12 and 14. However, mother does not have adequate housing nor the resources to secure alternate housing to provide for her children so that she may start her overnight weekend visits. Some LA County Regional Parks will be hosting overnight family camping during the months of July and August of 2025. The children’s overnight visit with their mother at the campsite would allow mother to demonstrate her ability to safely care for her children while in her care. Mother is currently undocumented and does not have steady employment to purchase the much needed camp gear. Any support towards the family’s camp gear would be tremendously helpful and appreciated by the family. The family needs 1 tent to accommodate mother and her two children, 3 sleeping bags, and 3 pillows and a flashlight. The mother is asking if anyone can provide her and her children with these items.

The biological mother of a child that has been placed in foster care has been evicted from her apartment. This mother is living in her van until something else is figured out. She has had difficulties getting approved for SNAP and is in need of some help with non-perishable items to keep in her van. I am requesting a $100 Wal-Mart gift card so that she can buy some food.

DHS is working with a foster family who has a set of twins who are going to celebrate their 9th birthday. This caseworker wants to help these set of twins have a good birthday as this is their first time in foster care and they are having a really hard time adjusting. A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the las two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. A family with two children recently took in two dogs from their sister. The dogs almost had their sister evicted from her apartment, and now they are faced a similar dilemma.
