The mother and baby live with the maternal grandmother and 2 uncles and there is only an a/c in the maternal grandmother's room. The mother and baby sleep in the mother's room and is dangerously warm in there for the baby. The baby was in foster care after being born and the mother has worked very hard to get the child out of care, keep a safe environment for him and continue with her parenting education. This would help the mother and the baby stay safe and healthy.

Since entering care, our team has ensured that he is up to date with all medical and dental needs, including the prescription of eyeglasses that significantly aid him in his daily activities. Unfortunately, as is common with teenagers, he has misplaced both pairs of eyeglasses, and the group home staff has been unable to locate them. Although we have obtained a new prescription, Medicaid will not cover the cost of the replacement glasses. A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work.
