This case was brought to the department following concerns of unsanitary living conditions at the fathers home. The children are now living with their mother in the City of Charlottesville, however, the families goal is to have the fathers home cleaned up so the oldest child can return home with her father. The family is in need of financial assistance, as they have been having issues with their cars and need extra money for repairs. To help offset the cost of those repairs, we are requesting clothing for 2 of the children, which would be helpful as they need new clothes for the summer and before school begins. The oldest is 16 and wears women's size 14-16. The other child is 10 and wears a youth size 12-14.

The child on this has been in the care of the godmother and the mother will not help. The mother does not provide any help or necessities for this child and leaved the 24-yr old godmother to fend for herself. The godmother's family helps as much as they can but that also only goes so far. This child barely knows the mother and the godmother is doing the best she can and just needs a little help. The car seat will allow for the godmother to safely transport the child.

I am currently working with a mom of two who is trying to make ends meet for her two children. She is in dire need of gas cards to continue working to make money. She is desperately trying to save money to go toward moving out of her mom's home where they are currently experiencing unsafe living conditions. Mom is doing everything in her power to keep her babies safe and healthy, but is growing tired as she continues to run into barriers. After speaking with mom, I can tell that while she is tired, but she is not losing the motivation to do what is best for her babies and doesn't plan to quit anytime soon. Mom could really use the help to continue making progress toward saving money to move out and continue her employment with gas money. She could also use help getting clothing and shoes for her and her two children.

Both children wear a size 7/8 8-10 for clothing and wear a size 1-2 in shoes.

A mom is in need of assistance with fixing her car. While driving, her hood flew up and smashed her windshield. She is in need of a hood replacement and windshield replacement. She is a single mom of a teenager who just recently started working. The car is essential for this family as mom drives the child to work and the mother has significant health concerns and needs the car to get to her appointments. She is on disability so she does not have much income to work with.  Mom has advised me that she could get a new to her hood and windshield from the junk yard for around $520. The car is an older model Honda Accord

Young single mom in need of rent assistance to bridge the gap until assistance is provided in august.

The family needs assistance with paying for their hotel stay. The landlord has disconnected utilities during the heat wave, making it difficult for the mother to provide a suitable environment for her and her two children. Additionally, she requires help with purchasing and obtaining food for them. The family has recently moved from another State, and the mother's food stamps are currently being cut off there, leaving her without any food assistance this month. The mother will greatly appreciate any assistance to assist with providing for her children and a place to stay.

A family recently had to flee their family home and move into an apartment to escape domestic violence. They are starting over and need basic cleaning items, household items, toiletries, and grocery items. A Walmart gift card would greatly assist this family. Any donation is appreciated.

Single mother is in the process of moving into more affordable housing and working to improve her financial situation. She is experiencing major health issues which make it difficult for her to work and support her middle school aged daughter. She could use some help with some utility bills this month.

We currently are fostering 3 children and want to continue to make their experience meaningful. We have a 12 year old girl who could use some basketball shoes (size 7.5) and probably extra socks. We also have a sibling set ( girl 2, boy 1) who could use some pajamas. She wears 3T and he’s in 18month. Diapers and wipes are always needed. Thank you so much!

There is a single mom within our community who is in great need of assistance. She has two little children (girl -2, boy-1) and is expected to deliver her 3rd child. She has no items for the baby which is expected to be delivered in 1 week. We are trying to provide her with love and support during this crises. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. She is in need of an infant carseat, crib/bassinette/playyard, wipes, diapers, clothing for newborn girl (sleepers/onesies), receiving blankets, bottles,(carseat stroller). Please pray for this mom and her children.
