A special needs three yr old baby girl who has been through a lot since birth needs a twin box spring for her special needs bed called a safe sleeper as soon as possible. She was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome that affects physical, cognitive, and behavioral development. This syndrome is characterized by mild to severe learning disabilities, distinctive facial features, sleep disturbances, and behavioral problems. She was approved for the safe sleeper after several months of being denied and she was finally approved and received the new safety bed, however it did not come with a box spring and placement really need the box spring to set up the bed. She is a very energetic 3yr old who hardly sleeps longer than a few hours at time and is always on the go. She is not able to sleep in a crib or toddler bed as she heads bangs, hits, and bites and she can be very aggressive at times. A safe sleeper allows placement to keep her safe from injuring herself and stay in bed. It will also allow the placement to sleep knowing that she is in bed and not getting into things that can hurt her. The placement has had a hard time with keeping her safe especially at night. The couple has had to rotate every few hours to stay up at night to ensure her safety and they are overwhelm, stressed out and tired of not getting sleep at night to ensure her safety and the safe sleep will be a great way to ensure her safety and keep her in her bed and out of danger.

A dedicated mother with two lively and cheerful children—a boy and a girl—who currently share a bedroom. Needs support as they continue to grow, the family is hoping to make their shared space more comfortable and practical with the addition of a bed and mattress. The kids would be especially thrilled to have a daybed, as it would not only give them a comfy place to sleep but also free up space during the day for playing, reading, and spending time together. The wonderful relative caregivers have placement of their two granddaughters (ages 9 and 10). The children have been living with the grandparents since April, but were not officially sheltered until this month. The grandparents have taken care of the children on their own since April. The grandparents are not receiving funding for the children just yet. The grandmother has asked for assistance obtaining clothing for the children- summer clothes for now, as well as help with school clothes. Both girls wear a size small in woman's clothing. Request for help obtaining clothing or gift cards for the children to pick out the clothing.

A transit bus pass is needed for a mom to get to and from services such as counseling.

Greene County Preventive is working with a couple and 1 baby boy, aged 10 months, who are currently homeless and placed in a motel room. The mother is employed while the father cares for the baby and is searching for work. The baby is old enough to sit in a highchair to eat but the family is unable to afford one. The family could benefit from a highchair for the child to allow safe and comfortable eating habits.

Request Details: A single mother of three children (ages 3 to 8) is facing an extremely difficult season. Her 8-year-old son was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment, which required her to resign from her job in order to care for him full-time.

She is also currently expecting twins (a boy and a girl) and does not have any baby items or support prepared for their arrival. The financial strain of her son’s illness and loss of income has left her unable to pay her rent and utilities, now totaling $2,000, and she is at immediate risk of becoming homeless.

We have engine trouble in help in getting to work, my car is not covered

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. We would like to help reduce any additional stress that would trigger any seizures episodes from occurring from having to move. Your help will keep this young family from becoming unhoused.
