I have 10 families (mothers) who do not know how to cook and are in need of crockpots and family friendly cookbooks to help them learn how to prepare simple nutritious meals for their children. This request goes beyond a household appliance - it is an opportunity to strengthen & equip moms with essential life skills that promote healthy family routines, stress reduction and positive parenting. With the support of crockpots and guided cookbooks mothers/families can: -Prepare affordable, nutritious meals at home; spend more quality time with their children; learn & practice a parenting skill & reduce the stress associated with meal planning and food insecurity.

After months of living in their van, a single father and his three children finally have a roof over their heads — a house they can call home. But right now, it's just four walls and a floor. They have no beds, no table to eat at, no couch to sit on — nothing but the clothes they moved in with.

Young family who recently moved to the area is in need of supplies for their one year old daughter. The father is working however mom has not been able to secure anything yet. DSS is currently supporting a dedicated great-grandmother who is caring for her two great-grandchildren in her home. She is nurturing a two-year-old boy and a six-month-old girl, both of whom require additional resources.

She is also currently expecting twins (a boy and a girl) and does not have any baby items or support prepared for their arrival. The financial strain of her son’s illness and loss of income has left her unable to pay her rent and utilities, now totaling $2,000, and she is at immediate risk of becoming homeless.

We have engine trouble in help in getting to work, my car is not covered

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. We would like to help reduce any additional stress that would trigger any seizures episodes from occurring from having to move. Your help will keep this young family from becoming unhoused.
