We are requesting support in the form of bus passes for a youth who is currently working toward completing his GED. The youth is mandated to attend GED classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, but consistent transportation has become a significant barrier. His mother, the only adult in the household with a vehicle, works long hours to support the family’s basic needs. She also provides transportation for his sister to and from work, which makes it difficult to coordinate consistent rides for the youth. The family is experiencing financial hardship and is unable to afford reliable transportation or extra funds for public transit. Their current income is stretched thin to cover rent, utilities, groceries, and other essential expenses. Due to these challenges, the youth has had to rely on friends for rides, which has caused inconsistencies in his attendance and created additional stress. Providing bus passes would greatly reduce this barrier and allow the youth to attend his GED classes regularly and on time. Access to transportation would not only improve his academic performance and help him meet court-mandated requirements, but also positively impact his sense of responsibility, motivation, and future employment prospects. With consistent access to education, the youth can take an important step toward self-sufficiency and long-term stability for himself and his family.

Family is on East Missouri Action Agency LIHEAP/Energy Assistances, but due to the holidays and them being out, mother wasn't able to reach them to get funds on her electric account. Mother electric got shut off at 11:00 AM on 07/03/2025. There are 3 children in the household, one of which is on a trial home visit with her. Mother is $4 negative in her account and then since it has been shut off there is a $25 fee to get it turned on, which would be added to the account. Requesting assistances of $29.

Description of Need: A teenage boy in foster care, who has been out of his home for 6 years and 8 months, is seeking support from the community to help meet two specific personal goals: obtaining an adult-sized bicycle, safety equipment, and enrolling in beginner guitar lessons. Who Needs Help: This request is for one teenage male in foster care. What Do They Need: An adult-sized bicycle for local transportation and increased independence. A set of beginner guitar lessons (virtual or in-person) to help him learn to play and build confidence through music. Why This Matters: The youth has expressed a strong interest in music and a desire to be more independent in his daily life. The bicycle would allow him to safely get to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. The guitar lessons would give him a creative outlet and provide a sense of accomplishment and joy during a pivotal time in his personal development. Impact of Meeting the Need: Meeting this need will help the youth build confidence, reduce isolation, and promote healthy outlets for emotional expression. It supports his healing journey and personal growth while showing him that his community values and believes in his future.

CASA has a case with an 11-year-old and 12-year-old on it. These kids are living with grandma after experiencing extreme abuse and neglect at the hands of their step-dad. Their dad is in jail and their mom is unable to safely parent them at this time. The children mentioned that many of their friends go to Comiccon every year and that they have never been. Grandma has a low income and cannot afford such an expense. CASA is requesting a VISA gift card for $150 for the children and grandma to get to go. We understand this is a need and not a want but appreciate you considering helping with this.

CASA has a case with a baby who has been in foster care basically since birth. He is going to get adopted by the foster family. He is growing fast but could really benefit from some assistance getting some toys and clothes in the next stage up from him currently. CASA is requesting $100 Walmart gift card for these items. A blessed opportunity to help a young, Christian family make it through a very difficult time in the heat of summer. A mother and father trying to secure a roof over their young children and feed their family. Tragically, the mother just lost her baby during delivery; father had to take time off from work to take care of her. He is back working but they are behind a few paychecks.

They need help to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks while they save money to rent an apartment (the apartment isn't ready yet). They could also use help with essentials and food.

If we can help them now, it will stabilize their income and resources for the future.

A family recently had to flee their family home and move into an apartment to escape domestic violence. They are starting over and need basic cleaning items, household items, toiletries, and grocery items. A Walmart gift card would greatly assist this family. Any donation is appreciated.

Single mother is in the process of moving into more affordable housing and working to improve her financial situation. She is experiencing major health issues which make it difficult for her to work and support her middle school aged daughter. She could use some help with some utility bills this month.

We currently are fostering 3 children and want to continue to make their experience meaningful. We have a 12 year old girl who could use some basketball shoes (size 7.5) and probably extra socks. We also have a sibling set ( girl 2, boy 1) who could use some pajamas. She wears 3T and he’s in 18month. Diapers and wipes are always needed. Thank you so much!

There is a single mom within our community who is in great need of assistance. She has two little children (girl -2, boy-1) and is expected to deliver her 3rd child. She has no items for the baby which is expected to be delivered in 1 week. We are trying to provide her with love and support during this crises. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. She is in need of an infant carseat, crib/bassinette/playyard, wipes, diapers, clothing for newborn girl (sleepers/onesies), receiving blankets, bottles,(carseat stroller).
