Story
We are currently serving a family of 11, but soon to be a family of 12 since the mother is getting close to giving birth to their 10th child. This family has experienced financial stress due to both parents losing their job. Thankfully, one of the parents is now working, but they are still struggling financially. Recently the parents' bed broke (it caved in), and there are real concerns of the mother not getting the rest she needs while being pregnant and very close to her delivery date. Additionally, there are some concerns about her ability for post-partum rest and recovery, especially considering that, in their Garifuna culture, the mother does not leave the home for the first 45 days after giving birth. So, the mom and the newborn are expected to be in utilizing this bed a lot during the first month and a half of the newborn's life. Since only one parent is working and their income has been cut in half, it is currently not possible for them to replace their broken bed. Blessing them with a king-sized bed with bed sheets and pillows would be such a gift for them as our clinical case worker continues to walk with and support them on their journey to becoming self-sustaining. Thank you so much in advance for your willingness to serve a vulnerable family with us!
