Story
Bedford County DSS is working with a single mother with two kids who are 4 and 7 years old. The mother is working a full-time job M-F and cleans houses on the weekend. She got behind on her bills and ended up losing her house. She is currently homeless, staying in her vehicle and at a friend's house 2-3 times a week. One of her children is staying with her father and the other child is safety placed out of the home for the time being. The mother is actively participating in every recommended service and doing what DSS is asking of her. She is on the verge of losing her car, which is the only way she is able to get to and from both of her jobs. She owes two months for her car payment, totaling $624.45. Her phone is also about to be cut off, and she needs her phone to be able to participate in her required services. She owes $156.11 to Tmobile. Paying her phone bill and getting her car payment caught up will help alleviate a lot of stress, allow her to be able to maintain her two jobs and services through the Department, allow her to be able to talk to/visit her children when she is able, and prevent her from losing her place to sleep until she is able to find stable housing.
